Teaming up with @bcrfcure 🩷 Yoga and Pilates content creator, Natasha Swinford @natashaswinter was first diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in 2018. Five years later, her world was turned upside down when the cancer returned as metastatic. #ResearchIsTheReason Natasha now has treatment options that allow her to live a full, active life. Mother 💐 I grew up never having to wonder if my mom would be there. Dance lessons, performances, every big moment and small one, she was always in my corner. She sacrificed so much for her kids. We are more alike than I ever realized. We even faced breast cancer at the same time and never let it dictate our lives. That kind of strength runs deep. It’s the perfect amount of creepy and cool 😏 host: @geeoice_yoga inspo: @adrianiyoga pose name: #DoTheHopperCrawl notes from the host: 〰️ warming up the hips, core, ankles & stretching tops of feet can only help! 〰️ i found it easiest to start seated. 〰️ hook arm around same side foot, so the top of the foot is in the crook of the arm. 〰️ bring that hand/fingertips to the floor with foot hooked, forearm of other arm down like you’re about to do a funky arm balance. 〰️ now liiiift the other leg’s knee with top of foot on the floor! you may find it helps to lean forward a little & tap into your strong core & shoulders (bc yes, you’re 💪!) 〰️ my camera was pretty low to the ground, a block height at most. I had no idea what I was getting myself into by posting a video of some body bar moves I taught the seniors at the gym. I would love to challenge them to a pressing and handstand contest though. These people also have no idea that my monthly Lupron and Fulvestrant and Truqap for stage 4 cancer is known to deteriorate your bones. Luckily my chance of breakage is still low from me staying strong 💪🏼 #yogastrong #metastaticbreastcancer #osteopenia

I haven’t had a post go viral in a long time. Well my osteoporosis one did and as mean as some people were on there, it did open my eyes to lifting heavier weights. I really angered people with the video using a baby 20lbs 🤣 The problem is they don’t realize that my medications do this to my bones and I’m not sure I can reverse it through working out. I will be more consistent with my vitamins and upping my vitamin D! #metastaticbreastcancer #sliders #coreburn

Finally I got one I liked that just barely kept my toes in so I put it in my app to expand it and got a hilarious surprise. Can we talk about bone density for a second? Because mine came back lower than expected and honestly I’m still processing it. Boderline osteoporosis at 49. I move my body every single day. I always have. So if you’ve ever assumed that because you’re active you’re automatically protected from certain things, this is me gently challenging that. Go get your baselines checked. Knowledge is everything. I’m going to see if I can get some other tests as DEXA is knows to not be as accurate for petite women. But I also know the cancer meds I take do a number on my bones. #metastaticbreastcancer #dexascan #bonedensity
