if you follow me & are clutching your pearls because of this post, it means you are still believing the lies fed to you by a government that does not care about you. it’s no longer merely politics, it’s a matter of basic decency & valuation of humanity. (where are the pro-life & “all lives matter” folks??) if you hate this & want to unfollow me, here’s your invitation. i am a proud child of immigrants, now having to carry my passport with me to prove citizenship—in a country where i was born & bred. the only ones berating & laughing at my fear are white americans who NEVER had to carry this kind of uncertainty.
i sincerely hope that, in time, you open your heart & mind to the world around you a little more.
and if you’re still struggling with the justification gymnastics of what this administration is doing, i invite you to look up actual footage & firsthand accounts of the people in america who are being hurt. we should be a nation of the people, not of political parties. certainly not of *THIS.*
and for those who are still trying to live your best lives despite the grief, raise a next generation of more compassionate & truth-seeking children, & carry on in fight or flight mode, i am with you.
day 597 of 2025, here we go.
to be fair though, it IS a good coping mechanism. 😅🧘♀️
if you’re feeling overwhelmed, helpless, or exhausted by these *unprecendented times* —PLEASE take a moment to breathe, stretch, find the little daily things that spark joy. then be the good in the world you want to see. our little actions make a bigger difference, & i’m still choosing to believe that. some doable ideas: **especially the last one**
- choose where your hard-earned dollars go. support small businesses & buy less from the big corporations that no longer reflect your values. quick online searches can provide info if you’re not sure. opensecrets.org is also a great source.
- check on your neighbors. ESPECIALLY the ones who might be especially scared or vulnerable right now: immigrant families, federal workers who lost their jobs, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, racial minorities, parents, women…. exchange contact info. even a quick “going to make a grocery run, need anything?”
- share food. food is a universal love language. take some goodies for the neighbors, homemade or store bought.
- take pantry items to a local food bank or shelter. it’s also a good time to donate any winter coats, blankets, & feminine products.
- leave little thank you notes for people who work in service. your mail carrier, the one who picks up your trash, the person who waited on your table for dinner, the people who make your morning coffee.
- support your local public schools & libraries. you can always email & ask if they need supply donations, big or small. many places have volunteer & tutoring opportunities.
- add your legislative reps to your phone contacts (phone &/or email). you can find them online at senate.gov & house.gov. spend a few minutes regularly (while sipping morning coffee, in car line, whatever) to send voicemails or emails urging action & accountability.
- i also recently discovered @5calls / 5calls.org & it seems to make the above process super easy. may be worth checking out.
- get over the concept that these are partisan issues & focus on the fact they’re HUMAN issues. at the end of the day, we’re all in this same stew together.
clawing & crawling my way into the weekend—who’s with me?? 😅
hallo! bringing you this week’s yogi-see-yogi-do with the @YSYDcrew . we shall call this one #DoTheHopperCrawl, inspired by the lovely @adrianiyoga (swipe to see her)
i couldn’t get my hopper to be so slinkily low & crawly like our inspo, but YSYD welcomes all our shapes, however we manage them! so come give it a whirl, mods are always welcome.
QUICKIE TIPS:
〰️ warming up the hips, core, ankles & stretching tops of feet can only help!
〰️ i found it easiest to start seated.
〰️ hook arm around same side foot, so the top of the foot is in the crook of the arm.
〰️ bring that hand/fingertips to the floor with foot hooked, forearm of other arm down like you’re about to do a funky arm balance.
〰️ now liiiift the other leg’s knee with top of foot on the floor! you may find it helps to lean forward a little & tap into your strong core & shoulders (bc yes, you’re 💪!)
〰️ my camera was pretty low to the ground, a block height at most.
happy shapemaking!
happy weekend!

this week’s YSYD feels gives funky airplane vibes, so i’ll dedicate this to the shutdown of spirit airlines, RIP. 😅✈️ 🪦
and no, i did not stay airborne for very long. the video supports the fact.
this week our @YSYDrew host @sanparrafit brings us this shape we’re calling #FlyingYogiMode, inspired by @amporndula
come fly with me with hopefully no sudden airline cancellations. 😅 check out @sanparrafit ’s post for helpful tips if you wanna give it a go. as always, YSYD is just about lighthearted yoga shape exploration while cheering each other on in the process.

looks pleasant & peaceful yes? swipe to see the moment my knees’ lives flashed before my eyes. this is what happens when you attempt a YSYD pose cold, after sitting hunched in front of a computer all morning.
happy sataurday! it’s our new yogi-see-yogi-do of the week! here we have #CrowOutsideTheBox brought by our host @natashaswinter , inspired by @passionpilatesyoga (swipe to see their amazingness)
wanna give this funky arm balance a whirl? my biggest tip would be to shift as much weight onto that grounded forearm, so there’s minimal weight on your wrists. secondly would be to warm up dem knees so you don’t have a moment of panic like i did. 🥲 be sure to check out @natashaswinter ’s post for more helpful tips.
happy weekend! off to more kid soccer games for me. 😅⚽️
making a little list of what we DID today–no matter how small–is the new kind of self soothing personal validation. highly recommend if you ever feel down on yourself.
sincerely,
this over-functioning, overthinking eldest daughter type A shii 😂
P.S. not mentioned but worth mentioning:
- chatted with the husband while he’s away for work (for like the 80th week in a row)
- sent the parents some links & light research on how to spot AI brainrot & why it’s important to avoid it (i don’t think they appreciated it)
- texted & called friends & sisters
- showered (important detail lol)
this lil number for our latest episode of yogi-see-yogi-do, plus an unintentional face plant on the rolling exit (video if you swipe).
happy saturday aka YSYD time with the @YSYDcrew ! this week our host @sarka_yoga brings us this #CasualCrissCross inspired by @stretchilates (see them with more swipes).
ok now your turn to have some fun with it! i gotta run 3 kids to 3 different soccer games on various sides of town. tis the season. 🤪⚽️ happy saturday!
not pictured: actually doing yoga, but instead you get a lil dump of fav fits & traipsing around miami with my beautiful sister. FUNNY STORY—sister & i did a morning yoga class at the hotel. the breezy, goddessy looking latina yoga teacher sweetly told us at the beginning of class that it’d be “meditation & easy stretch.” PERFECT, just what we needed after a late night. then she proceeded to kick our asses with things like holding chair pose, warriors & camel. plus heavily critiquing our alignment. i’m in a standing forward fold with my face on my shins, but she said i could go deeper & proceeded to adjust. i stumbled forward & she asked “what is wrong?” 🤣
i dunno, i still enjoyed the class. my sister was like wtf. 😆 a lady in the back laid down 7 min into class & proceeded to nap on her mat for the rest of it. i’m in awe of her.
it’s giving “help i’ve fallen & can’t get up ~::BUT MAKE IT VOGUE::~”
anyone who’s not too youthful to remember the “help i’ve fallen” reference? that was a peak meme for us olds, back in the day before actual memes.
anyway, please enjoy the rest of the hot mess that was me trying to figure out this week’s yogi-see-yogi-do pose. got the arm all wrong on the first attempts (but kinda like how it turned out). and lots of falling ahh first into the window & probably making the neighbors question who let us into the neighborhood.
this week’s shape brought to us by @helengarnerweaver , inspired by @ms.fabulosity3 (swipe to see our lovely inspos) —we’re calling it #TwistedTuckedPlough
go check out @helengarnerweaver ’s post for helpful tips & wish her a happy anni! weekly @YSYDcrew shapes are just for funsies & open for anyone who wants to give it a whirl. no rules, just good vibes.
happy saturday!
it’s uncanny how, through all the years that YSYD (yogi-see-yogi-do) has been running, balancing on elbows &/or knees is a recurring theme. nobody particularly enjoys it, yet we keep doing it. so either we just don’t want to admit we enjoy it, or we’re secretly masochists. or both? 🤔
and that’s why we’re calling this week’s pose the #SignatureYSYD with dem knees & elbows. 🦵💪 brought to us by @YSYDcrew host @jenbellyoga , inspired by @preferthestorm (swipe to see our lovely inspos)
now i did find the balance easier on carpet. so, do with that nugget of info how you will. check out @jenbellyoga ’s post for even more helpful tips if you wanna get your YSYD on. then we can be elbow & knee masochists together! 😁
YSYD is for all to play, anytime. anywhere. anyhow. all mods welcome. we’re here for a good time, exploring fun yoga-ish shapes seen around IG, & cheering each other on in the process.
this week’s YSYD (yogi-see-yogi-do) was a fluke one & done for me, where i just rolled back & BAM. but i immediately thought, “SURELY NOT. i must’ve done it wrong.” because these shapes have humbled me too many times before. but…i think maybe the fluke is flukin’ here. 😅
happy weekend! this week our @YSYDcrew host @svenjaborchers brings us this #LoungingInfinity inspired by @j.az.yoga (swipe to see their amazingness)
now it’s your turn! will it be a fluke for you too? only one way to find out. 😂 check out @svenjaborchers ’s post for helpful tips. as always, YSYD welcomes all to play! no rules or timeline. no egos but yes to any mods.
cheers to you! 🩶
