Do voicemails count? Should I call Senators outside of my state? Why the hell are you called 5 Calls when I only have 3 reps? And other burning questions...
The Supreme Court's Callais ruling, and a ruling by the Virginia Supreme Court that struck down a voter-approved congressional map, have both highlighted the need for strong voting rights legislation and Supreme Court reform.
Call your reps and demand they take action to protect our voting rights and fair representation and to stop the Supreme Court from chipping away our constitutional protections. π₯ππ₯

Remember last year's One Big Bullshit Bill? Republicans are now using that same 50-vote threshold budget reconciliation procedure to juice ICE and CBP with additional slush funding *and* fund Trump's ballroom.
π¨ They're moving FAST. Senate Republicans are aiming to have this on the floor for a vote by the week of May 18th.

Congress had a busy week...
π¨π¨ Republicans in both chambers have now passed the initial budget reconciliation blueprint to bypass Democrats and fund ICE & CBP with an additional $70 billion.
βΌοΈ Both chambers passed a new 45-day extension of FISA Section 702 to continue negotiations on the sweeping surveillance authority.
π₯ The House passed the Farm Bill. The pesticide protector provision was removed, but not the provision endangering animals.

While working people are stretched to the brink, billionaires and corporations are posting record profits and hoarding the wealth our labor creates. That money should be funding housing, schools, healthcare, and the public goods that make life livable.
Democracy should work for working people, not billionaire interests.
Make your voices heard this MAY DAY π
No work. No school. No shopping.
Their time is up.
Republicans in Congress are now proposing legislation to use $400 million of taxpayer money to fund Trump's ballroom. With a nation in financial turmoil, there are countless programs to fund other than a dictator'a vanity project.
Call your reps and demand they oppose the funding and construction of Trump's ballroom. π₯ππ₯

Republicans are pushing forward with their plan to fund ICE and CBP and block all efforts by Democrats to reform the agencies.
Remember last year's One Big Bullshit Bill? They're using that same partisan, 50-vote threshold, budget reconciliation procedure to give ICE and CBP a fresh $70 billion with no oversight or accountability.
Senate vote on the initial budget proposal is happening *THIS WEEK*

Seeing some confusion, so this is what happened to the SAVE Act on the Senate floor today:
In order to move forward on S.Con.Res. 33. the new Republican budget reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP with a 50-vote threshold, Majority Leader Thune had to *close* the ongoing open floor debate on the SAVE Act. They can't do both at the same time.
There was no final vote. Thune can bring it back to the floor in the future bc it's technically still "alive." But it's a whimpering zombie at best...
Senate Republicans simply do not have the votes to pass it. If they did, it would have passed while it was on the floor this month! Thune is only keeping it "alive" to make the handful of bratty stubborn Senators coughMikeLeecough happy. But it's effectively dead.
But you know what is very much ALIVE in the Senate right now?? The budget bill Republicans are forcing through to *FULLY FUND* ICE and CBP w/ 70 BILLION MORE DOLLARS without any oversight or accountability.
Call about that. π€ππ
Warshβs refusal to say that Trump lost the 2020 election and his reversal on interest rate policy are concerning signals of Warsh currying favor with Trump. He cannot be trusted to maintain an independent Federal Reserve.
Call your Senators and oppose his nomination. π₯ππ₯
