One of my favourite things about being a photographer and filmmaker is the opportunity to meet other artists and learn about their process and motivations.When I first met Arowah, we chatted about her approach to music, involvement with meditation and the importance of collaboration over ego“The sound that you are putting out is not just yours alone, you know, the instrument plays a part, the history of the music plays a part, your teachers play a part, your inspirations play a part, and all that comes out through you.”Last year, I got home to find out there had been a fire in my neighbour’s house. The whole home had been stripped back to the floorboards and blue smoke-stained walls.It felt like such a perfect location to shoot these stills and a short film, exploring the idea of creation and consciousness.Director: @ojharvDOP: @mrjackwellsMusician: @arowahsounds

We’ve been printing moons for over a decade But this year, there’s a new (very small) printing assistant, already covered in ink.Each moon calendar begins as a series of hand-drawn moons, every phase drawn by hand with a brush pen, then turned into a screen for printing. Thank you @printclublondon We print slowly, on our favourite papers. It’s not fast

 And what a good one, A mix of digital and film. A bag full of 16mm and the trusty Bolex, And some Canon FDs to go with the digital, perfect little combo for an on the fly run and gun road trip shoot. Lots of laughing with top notch Cathal breakfasts to make the sunrises more exciting. Lots of Bee keeper bothering was done, some of the most beautiful apiary sites I’ve seen were up in the Andalusian mountains. Collaborating with @babii.mp3 making the video poems is always fun, for an aspect of her project Necta we smashed the shit out of some pillows. This scene was shot after a pretty long day of shooting, what seemed like a good idea at the time then became mammoth feather cleaning up time.
