Really honoured to win 1st place for the @time magazines global portraiture award, for my image of David Fuentes. The image shows David sat at his grandfathers dining table, surrounded by his grandfathers paintings of various family members. David was born into a long history of bullfighters within his family. The work continues my exploration into how people find a sense of belonging from their heritage and the various groups and activities that they align themselves with.
Many thanks to the judges for awarding the work and to @time for showcasing the work.
Massive thanks to @candyblythe@dgusano@royalphotographicsociety@fionashields7 and @rptooth - I couldn’t have made the work without your support.
Print Sales available on my website.
You can read more about this series of images that I’ve made on lowriding in LA, now up on The @guardian and out today as a double page spread in the newspaper! Huge thank you to @fionashields7 and @itchyeyelai for putting together the article so beautifully and thanks again to everyone who allowed me to spend time with you and take your photograph.

Little April photo dump of things that have recently caught my eye. I made a promise myself to take a picture every single day. It can be as simple as a nice patch of light, or some pleasing colours working together in an every day space. It’s been fun and it’s making me get more daily steps in, feel more sun on my face and notice the little things. Spring 💙
One of my favourite things about being a photographer and filmmaker is the opportunity to meet other artists and learn about their process and motivations.
When I first met Arowah, we chatted about her approach to music, involvement with meditation and the importance of collaboration over ego
“The sound that you are putting out is not just yours alone, you know, the instrument plays a part, the history of the music plays a part, your teachers play a part, your inspirations play a part, and all that comes out through you.”
Last year, I got home to find out there had been a fire in my neighbour’s house. The whole home had been stripped back to the floorboards and blue smoke-stained walls.
It felt like such a perfect location to shoot these stills and a short film, exploring the idea of creation and consciousness.

Portraits at the Rivolli Ballroom, for The Pink Panther Club.
The first series of work that I ever created as a photographer was about the Mod scene in the U.K. I still clearly remember the first time I walked into the basement of a tiny club in Finsbury Park. Everyone dressed to the nines, sweat dripping down the walls and of course the dance moves. I was hooked and went across the country photographing the scene, lots of 11pm-6am shoots in bars and then arranging to meet people the next day to take their portraits. I still have 100’s of rolls of B&W Tri-X film that I need to contact sheet. Perhaps this year I’ll get around to it!
It’s been so nice to reconnect with some of the people that I photographed 15 years ago now, who I originally photographed as teenagers and who are now running their own club nights. The style has adapted and the passion for the music, dancing (and taking pictures) remains.
More from this soon.
An incredible week with the crew at @surfakademin in Essaouira. I caught some rays, rode some waves (badly), ate lots of good food, met great people and spent time with a lot of street cats.
Out now in the March print issue of @cntraveler
America came to London for an incredible @nfl showdown and so off I went, to capture the @rams vs @jaguars game at Wembley Stadium.
Everything was turned up to 11. Fans singing along to Guns N Roses at the top of their voices, cheerleaders dancing and athletes moving with unreal speed and power. In suitable British fashion it poured with rain, but it couldn’t dampen the atmosphere.
A very fun commission! Massive thanks to @mattbuckphoto & @beccadouglashome for the call.
