Spring in the Arctic.
Hard to believe this was a year ago.
Taking a crew of Austrian mountain men through the Arctic north of Tromsø up to Alta and back again, chasing mountains by sea.
I don’t think I’ve ever done anything that tested me more. Long days, very little sleep, and some of the hardest conditions I’ve ever operated in. Most of the time my focus was purely on safely getting the crew to the next mountain, which is probably why I barely filmed any of it.
What stays with me most is how quickly everything could change. One moment complete fear and total concentration, the next absolute awe - huge mountain ranges dropping straight into a dark Fjords, reindeer on the shoreline, beluga whales, dolphins, and more cod than you could wish for.
I think it’s taken me a year to defrost and fully appreciate what I learnt and got to see.
Life north of the wall.
Tromsø - Lyngen - Arnøya - Jokelfjorden - Seiland - Alta - then back again. The north of Norway came through with some pretty spectacular scenery.
Hope to drop anchor in the fjords again soon.
Cruising down the coast of Norway and across the North Sea onboard the good ship Comrades.
Kristiansund - Haugesund - Helgeland - Ditzum
