Born in Lisburn Northern Ireland in 1926, met her husband in Birmingham during WW2 and moved to Shepton Mallet in Somerset together after the war where she had 10 children. Forever fiery and protective of her brood. Now at rest with her parents in Lisburn. She would be 100 this year ☘️💚

The one and only Iconic and slightly baby faced @celeste - Portraits from the archive.
I was reminded of these pictures on Friday when she performed in a surprise appearance at Matt Maltese live show at Camden Roundhouse where she absolutely blew the crowd away. I took these two pictures whilst on set of the video for ‘Lately’ that I directed in late 2019. As I imagined at the time Celeste has evolved into such an incredible figure with so much power on stage, reminding me more and more as time goes on of one of my favourite artists, Nina Simone. You absolutely have to see her live at least once in your life. I’m hoping to see more and more success for her, talent like hers deserves the most!

New album artwork for the iconic @sophiemay.uk upcoming record ‘stars & teeth’ shot exclusively in a Morrisons car park in South London. Sophie truly saved the best til last as the sun was setting over this glorious location, going full melt down mode whilst I was laid on my belly lens to the sky I’m sure some of the local shoppers had a good giggle at the burst of activity that took place as trolleys were being collected around us.
Also featuring some fun outtakes and moments crawling around on the floor in the vicinity of Denmark Hill.
It’s never not the best of days and nothing but pure joy to collaborate with an artist who is comfortable to go balls to the wall in order to get the money shot. I can’t wait to see this out in the world, cardboard cutouts pending.

The best band in the world have a new album out today, 5 years after I worked with Asha to shoot the artwork for their incredible debut album ‘925’. Here’s the censored uncropped photo that was used for the record cover featuring the silver chain that was specially made for the artwork. I always felt like this image would make a bad ass poster to promote the record and i'm really happy that Asha was digging it as well.

This was our very first take in a series of one shot clips of Matt & Bella singing at the piano. I’m hardly surprised, having known and worked with Matt for nearly ten years magic has poured out of him effortlessly on every project I’ve had the pleasure of working on with him. On top of that nothing needs to be said for Bella’s talent, this is the first time we had met and having never shot anything together before it’s pretty cool to think I just hit the red button and this was the result in less than 4 minutes of recording.
I can’t get the damn song out of my head, I’ve been humming and whistling it to myself every day since we recorded, that eerie piano feels like it speaks to my entire existence.
This video was shot on a very under rated Panasonic AG-HVX201AE using their iconic P2 cards which only saw widespread use between 2004 and the late 2010s (and are a total pain in the 🍑 to incorporate into any kind of workflow)

This picture was taken as part of a series of images for Bella’s (artist name Bello) stunning musical debut ‘Cure for Emptiness’, a duet recorded with legendary long time collaborator Matt Maltese (more photos of the pair in my previous post). I am thoroughly enjoying leaning into long exposures as much as I possibly can more and more so as time goes on and it’s a real treat to have the trust to make conventionally imperfect pictures in an era so obsessed with high definition and sharpness. I have another favourite portrait of Bella I’ll post this week as well.
