A legendās haul for @labattoir_van as the Gastown institution celebrates 16 years. At this yearās @vancouvermagazine Restaurant Awards, the restaurant was one of the biggest winners earning five medals, including three gold ā among them Best Upscale Contemporary ā along with a silver and a bronze.
This yearās recognition feels especially meaningful for @mrcookit Chef Jasper Cruickshank, who stepped into the restaurantās storied kitchen just over a year ago following founder Lee Cooper. Cruikshank has seamlessly carried forward the restaurantās tradition of refined French technique cooking while continuing to shape dishes that feel both elegant, hyper local, and deeply personal.
Paired with beautifully curated wines from sommelier @peter_van de Reep, the tasting menu we enjoyed tonight was a reminder of why this @michelinguide recommended destination remains one of the cityās finest dining experiences.

Chef @kuansteve , Chef Jasper Cruickshank (@labattoir_van ), and Chef Jamie Tung (@butter.mere ) brought the heat and the heart to every dish. From old inside jokes to new creations, it was a full-circle kind of night with some of our dearest friends.
In a city where restaurants come and go, we donāt take milestones like this for granted. Thank you for being part of ours.
It was especially meaningful to have Chef @brunomarti2091 and the Sylvia from @picachef joining us for dinner. Weāre so grateful for the mentors who helped shape us along the way, and who continue to guide and cheer us on.
