Noel Gallagher - Wonderwall - Oner (Once In A Lifetime ‘17) 2025 - Oasis are back. Something I never thought I would get to say. This extract is from a series shot at Metropolis Studios called ‘Once In A Lifetime’. 4x Tracks recorded straight to vinyl and simultaneously captured as one take. Wonderwall is a monolith in music - It stands with the very best and most important songs ever written. The vulnerability and raw performance from Noel in this version is one of the best versions of it in my opinion. My childhood was filled with their music. During my teens their music played through the pubs and clubs as an anthem of the night. Arms around each others shoulders well into the morning. The music brought camaraderie between friends and strangers, it wove people together. The series introduced me to Director @charlielightening - A relationship that has meant so much to me over the last 8+ years as we became close friends. This session lead to the opportunity to working together on a host of other videos with the Gallagher brothers and most importantly on ‘Once’, by Liam. I had no time to prepare for this track. When the studio door sealed shut, I had no plan - The countdown began and the recording started. I can’t explain the next 4mins. I actually have no idea what happened - Autopilot kicked in and this very familiar music guided me. Think of it as deep meditation or a creative black out - I just witnessed what was happening. A one take session like this is a preservation of time. The moment is captured in its purist form without cuts and will last forever, long outliving the people in it and behind it.
