With another year gone by, it feels right to look back and appreciate the things that helped us grow, the new friends we made and the old ones we got to keep.
When I picked up cycling in 2021, I never thought I’d steal my wife’s shaver to become more aero or trade baggy skate clothes for lycra. I left my roller skates behind and slowly abandoned
@the_wheel_phil for
@mostaveragecyclist .
I guess we’re still rolling 💁♂️
2025 was my first year riding in a cycling team. It brought a ton of excitement, but also pressure and a healthy dose of anxiety to perform. Shit got real, really fast 😅
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of a team of absolute machines at
@eurosteel_ciovita_vets . Riding alongside okes I’ve long considered (and still consider) role models was a seriously humbling experience.
Rob,
@waldozevenster ,
@garthennion ,
@ashleyoldfield ,
@cobusjonker , Dono - thanks for a rad year.
Looking back, a handful of races left a bigger mark on me than I expected:
🥇 99er Trilogy Gravel
🥈 Team - The 36One
🥉 Vets - Filthy Fondo Malmesbury
🥇 Vets - Filthy Fondo Hermon
🥇 Men’s Team - Around the Pot
🥉 Double Century — Guest riding for
@team_honeycomb_226ers
I also won’t forget the professional advice and top-tier coaching from the legend himself,
@reecemcd1 . Looking forward to more insane Wednesday workouts 🐸 in 2026, amigo.
Last but not least the stellar people and organizations that support us in riding our bikes really fast. This year wouldn’t have been possible without you:
@euro_steel_sport
@eurosteelsa
@enduren
@squirtcyclingproducts
@specializedtygerberg
@leatt_mtb
@tavelo_sa
See you all on the bike in 2026 🚴♂️
