An absolute privilege to be involved at the Old Mutual Wealth Double Century 2025. @oldmutualwealthdc This was my 13th year, and somehow it just keeps getting better. The camaraderie, the team spirit, the unity — for me, it remains the ultimate team-building event. What makes it special is how it’s built over time. You see corporates and businesses putting together genuinely strong cycling teams, all showing up with purpose. And then there’s the route: 200 grueling kilometres. This year was no joke. Speak to anyone out there and they’ll tell you it was hard… but they loved it. There’s something about pushing through the human journey — testing ourselves, leaning on each other — where the real growth happens. Where real unity forms. Community is everything, and we’re lucky to have one of the strongest cycling communities in South Africa. | OMWDC 2025 🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🏼 A lil photo dump of the shenanigans from this past w/e at @oldmutualwealthdc ☀️ My 2nd time at DC & honestly, it just gets better & more meaningful every single year. The RBF / FLC FLYERS showed up looking cute in our yellow & black kit, & the colours popped even more against the backdrop of the Western Cape’s mountains, open roads, & endless blue skies. It was HOT (like… really hot), & that last 30km headwind was absolutely unhinged😅, but somehow our energy never dipped for a second. The day was… eventful to say the least 🤣 Between losing @rodbloomrohan at 1km in (yes, he didn’t even make it out of Swellendam after a dramatic bike failure), multiple punctures, an impressive number of wee breaks, the heat, the wind, & then @megholtzhausen ’s race-ending cramps, it was chaos wrapped up in camaraderie 🤣🥰 I felt strong for 185km, but once those last 3 bitches arrived in that relentless headwind, my leggies were certified toast. I had to dig deep, deeper than I expected, just to keep my wheels spinning. But somehow, the 202km’s rolled by, & before we knew it we were crossing that finish line together 🤩 DC isn’t just a race. It’s the culmination of months of early mornings, long group rides, shared snacks, shared suffering, & the kind of bonding that only happens when you spend hours on the road with the same 11 humans. This year’s team was magnificent in every way. Captained by @britt.hyland with @millerdsa as the ultimate sidekick, we gelled from the very first ride. I think it’s safe to say many of us will be back for round two next year 🤩 And lastly… we all felt Rohan’s spirit with us as we navigated every one of those 202km. He was there when Dad had his blowout, guiding Rod back with grace & a winning attitude. He was with us through the blistering heat, the tired giggles, the compulsory stops, the moments of grit & joy, & he was with us when we finally crossed that finish line 💛 To my incredible team, thank you for making OUR DC experience so incredibly memorable. Each of you holds a special place in my heart, & the memories from this weekend are ones I’ll carry for a lifetime 🌟 What an unforgettable weekend!

This past weekend we lined up for the biggest Team Time Trial in the world — the @oldmutualwealthdc — and walked away with 3rd place overall. Getting here after a 12-year layoff from cycling, the last 7-months returning to the bike has been nothing short of an epic uphill battle. We pushed through 205 km, chaotic crosswinds, and wheel-to-wheel pressure that never let up. And let me tell you… I was wrekt. Still am, three days later. 😅 But every kilometre was for something bigger. I’m doing this to raise funds and awareness for Impact Project, our NPO fighting human trafficking. Our goal is to raise R1,000,000, and we’ve already hit 35% of the target! Huge thank you to everyone who’s supported, donated, shared, or cheered us on.
