Lily Gladstone’s The Unknown Country is now streaming on Netflix.
Arriving on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada this March 2026, The Unknown Country follows an Oglala Lakota woman who sets out on a road trip to reconnect with her estranged family after the loss of her grandmother.
Directed by Morrisa Maltz in her debut feature and led by Lily Gladstone (Blackfeet/Nimiipuu), the film unfolds as an introspective journey across the vast and unfamiliar landscapes of the American Midwest.
The Unknown Country first premiered at SXSW and has since been recognized for its understated portrayal of identity and grief. Gladstone also received the 2023 Gotham Award for Outstanding Lead Performance for her role.
