Is it a klunker?...who knows. It's pretty cool if you ask me...and if you might have fun if you send it down a hill.

This DX (double curved top tube..feel free to add knowledge in the comments) had a cool custom paint job when I got it. A little stronger and a little more burnt after a few re-brazes. You can see a little lead filler spilling out of the lower seat cluster braze. Kudos to Schwinn for giving a shit. I was wearing a respirator... Which is slightly less sketchy than not wearing one I guess.

Not just any modern parts get invited to the party ...Layback solid post holding a b72. Hachita fork. @paulcomponent x @endlessbikeco are a hard to beat crank/chainring combo. Tublessness from @velocityusa and UST?? ...hand laced to our souped up coaster with brassdaddy nippies. Hate the steerer stack? Don't care. I think the spacers tie it together nicely. 💅🏼

I predict Tijme will have one of the baddest Schwinns in the Netherlands. Hoping he can find a dyke to roll down and practice his skids.

The wheels! Pacenti carbon hoops hand laced with our raw brass nipples to DT hubs. 240 rear, 350 front = 420 bra! Thanks to @timwillis for tying the room (hubs) together with those custom irie decals. 💨🌳

@norwoodexposure decided that there was a giant full suspension coaster brake mountain bike sized hole in his quiver, and g dangit, if we didn't fill it it right up.

"Build me one like yours"... Hard to beat a prompt like that. The factory orange forks are all bizzness...just begging for the orange zia lace compliment on the back of the mullet wheel set.

@krazykarlbpr handled the Turbo Midnight finish on the frame and bar...I think he's getting the hang of it.

@ridehifi was sitting there on the shelf with a disc QR hub...shouts for covering allll the standards. @velocityusa blunt ss, onza 2.4 rubber has a tiny bit of breathing room.

@camp.and.go.slow to provide bar covering. Hard to beat the westy snakey pattern. There's a brooks. There's XTR cranks 😉. It's from the bin and the bin shines up nice.

I wanted to go full class for this one. I had these wheels in the shed begging for a neo-retro build. @velocityusa polished atlas 🪽 hoops hand laced to @paulcomponent front and coaster rear. V classy. V monē.

The Continente makes a great platform for the coaster curious. Replace the rear wheel, add some brakes and maybe even gears and you got yourself a normal person bike.

@whiteind@brooksengland@bikethomson round out the polished goodness. Throw in our lightweight brazed stem holding a brazed set of oddmonē bars wrapped in @camp.and.go.slow tape. @twinsisters_cycling.fitness even added a little extra padding underneath cause he knows me and my sensitive hands.

I'm excited to get this out in the Sacramento mountains and ride around with my friends...but I'd be equally excited to share this classy ride with one of you...so I put it up in the whebshtore because I'm a hopeless entrepreneur. Stay classy monē bunnēs. 🐇

This concludes my 40th lap around the sun. For my 41st bday, I thought I'd bring you @derek_mauser 's new banger.

I can start with the basics... 150/90mm, mullet, coaster. It's not likely that Derek will be riding the same bike as anyone else on his next group ride...unless he invites me I suppose.

This one features some extra @dtswiss ...yum. the old favorites, @paulcomponent@bikethomson@whiteind and @oddity_cycles ... The oddmonē is our recipe for the world's perfect handlebar...this ones ti and looks like a tiger from Lisa Frank.

To anyone out there who doesn't think this is a serious mountain bike...you're right. This is a chariot for fun. This is a giggle machine. A laughter extractor. Turns out 11 less speeds and 1 less brake is a decent way to turn down the serious and turn up the...whatever this is. Happy birthday to me and happy frivolous fun day to Derek!

Coil Marzocci... atypical and rad and just a tiny bit apocalyptic.

Alex also looooves when we radial lace a front wheel. Problem is... Here at monē, our wheelbuilder joe won't radial lace anything that has a provision for a front brake, installed or not. As much as we hate him for it, we also love him for it. We kindly explained to Alex that he couldn't run a boost front hub/suspension fork and have radial lacing. Alex wasn't stopping there...he called our friends and @profile_racing and special requested a non-disc boost front hub. They sent one, Joe laced it, zero crosses...only the deepest nerds will have made it to the end of this paragraph and we love you for it.

If you have an opinion on a better path to having fun on a bike and it isn't a full suspension coaster brake, we, A. commend you for keeping your opinions to yourself or B. Flatly disagree.
