A week in Vienna to perform Microcosmos/ Macrocosmos, which uses reeeally close-scale field recordings we made (soil, trees, ice, bees, birds, reeds, water) as its material and large-scale climate projections (till 2095) as its form. It was a delight to work with @cecilia_enberg on visuals while I pottered around with the sounds. Had a good time meeting old and new friends in this semla-like city with noble Gustav by my side. Stay tuned for a performance in Stockholm <3

Some moments from Milky Void at @fylkingen.se last week with @ella.my
Thanks to everybody who was there, to @girilalb for booking us, @elin_hallqvist for being a lighting/ choreography hero and @sree8ive for the gorgeous shots. Loved bringing a medieval beguine to Stockholm’s experimental scene.

Through a collaborative search across body, voice, and the live coding of electronic and unperformed medieval material, Milky Void enters the cosmic fog of erotic unity with that which lies beyond our ordinary limits. Inspired by 13th-century mysticism and the abject, the collaboration expands to include texts by Mechthild von Magdeburg (1207-1282) and melodies from the 14th-century Jena Songbook.

Really feel like making some sounds for you all. This will be a little set of vocal/ modular/ laptop improv plus songs from dream of mog. If you’re in Uppsala, it’d be great to see you! Let me know if you’d like to come as space is limited. 📷: NASA via archive.org
Feeling a delicate lightness over the fact that the EP I made last year, dream of mog, is coming out into the world. It’s now available for pre-order via the wonderful @aural_canyon , known for their tapes (link in my bio). As the internet continues to spawn AI slop and streaming platforms exploit artists, the return of physical media offers a more direct way of supporting musicians, not to mention the tactility and sonic warmth of its analogue rituals.
dream of mog started with an actual dream I had during a time of confusion. I dreamed I was trying to sign my name, Meg, on a card, but it kept coming out ‘mog’. At the center of my name was this empty space, this circle delimiting some foreign part of myself. By making my artist name ‘mog’, I wanted to set an intention of inhabiting this empty space, allowing the hole at my centre to stretch out into some path that could only be revealed through spontaneous creative practice.
In dreams, each of us encounters the other in the self. Held in the dreamworld’s unfolding, we tolerate a strangeness that we may not always do in waking life. But waking life, especially in this time of conflict, needs the dream to show us the extraordinarily generative power of difference, both in the self and the world.
Wishing you dreams both sweet and strange. Thanks for reading and listening <3 #dreamofmog #ambient #experimental #cassettes
Using filters and the wave multiplier to make some simple feedback loops on the Serge. Loving the fragile wonkiness. Take me to space, baby. @elektronmusikstudion_ems
