Wave field synthesis is a spatial audio rendering technique that uses high-density loudspeaker arrays to reproduce the pressure fronts of spatially-distributed sound sources, creating realistic three-dimensional landscapes of sound.
Created with electronics wizard and creative technologist @mldhunter , Open Wave Field Synthesis is a modular wave field synthesis system with open-source hardware schematics and software stack, designed for experimentation and prototyping new approaches to working with spatial audio.
OpenWFS debuted at Electromagnetic Field 2024 with “On The Surface Of The Ocean” (2024), a new spatial piece composed for the system.

Been obsessed with Joni Mitchell’s gorgeous songwriting ever since my trip to Canada. Had a few minutes on Elton John’s old piano and it felt appropriate to play this during Pride 🌈☁️😭
Haute Route - a magical trip with some magical friends! 7 days in the mountains in the middle of nowhere, sleeping in huts at 3000+ metres, from Chamonix to (almost) Zermatt... ft. lots of cheese
I did an interview for the @bbc about @cageslondon (which I had the immense privilege of associate sound designing a few months ago) and the future of theatre sound design! This short edit of a 10-minute interview doesn't include me gushing about @cjbaran , @wondashow , @notomocoffee and everyone else who should take far more credit than me for creating this incredible production. Ignore the reviews, it's probably the best sounding thing in London right now, and there's only 9 days left before it closes - message me if you want to go see it!

"The biggest gig ever in Ghana" - not every day you get to put that on your CV! Had such a wonderful time over the past week in Accra designing and system engineering the biggest ever PA deployment in the country for @globalfestival - hosting Usher, Stormzy, TEMS, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and a host of other great acts.
A challenging but rewarding long rig week putting together a large chunk of the PA in the country from 4 different brands to deliver a wonderful show with headliners averaging over 102dBA at FOH. Big thanks to the wonderful crew at @solotech_inc for being unwaveringly lovely and helpful, and to @enoch_her and his team for rigging everything, taking apart speakers, amplifiers, and wielding soldering irons and hairdryers to fix things at 1am!

So lovely to be back at a festival! Spent last weekend out in a field by the sea as system tech for the Castle Stage at @victoriousfestival , designing and looking after the PA for ~30,000 people watching @nilerodgers , @manics , @melaniecmusic ...
(28 boxes of @dbaudiotechnik_gmbh KSL in AP, 12 SL-SUBs, 24 boxes of V as delays and fills, with 5 Lake LM44/LM26 as processing...)

@swinglesingers closing the first night of @oranjewoudfestival in the Netherlands with a beautiful Afghan folk tune, in solidarity against the atrocities being committed in Afghanistan right now - and a minute-long standing ovation from the Dutch audience. Music transcends borders and cultures... 🎶🇦🇫🇳🇱
