Magical places we discovered during our Easter break in Wales: St Cybi’s well legends go back to Pagan times, even though it’s named after the 6th century saint St Cybi who lived on the Isle of Anglesey. Its waters were believed to cure a number of illnesses such as including blindness, lameness, scurvy, warts and rheumatism. The adjacent cottage served as a place for people to stay over and rest between their healing dipping sessions. Also the legend has it you could test your lover’s faithfulness by dropping a handkerchief into the water. If it was dragged down by a ‘magic eel’ the news were not good. The fourth photo is from another beautiful well nearby - Ffynon Beuno. #wales #llynpenninsula #stcybiswell

Screening & Q&A of @Power.film.art by artist activists and film makers @dan777edelstyn @Hilary_Powell about a crowdfunding project to turn their Hackney street into a power station with the support of their neighbours, local community and crowdfunders. The process has been far from easy but their determination and will power finally paid off. I’ve been following this project for a while and so happy to see that it all happened in the end. What an incredible and inspiring story! Also my first time in @thecastlecinema - which also started out as a crowdfunded project - what a gem, check it out!
