Danielle Arnaud is pleased to share that gallery artists Tessa Farmer and Oona Grimes are included in the upcoming group exhibition ‘Occupied: Strange Company’ at Safehouses, Peckham on view between 15-17 May 2026. ‘Occupied: Strange Company’ is an exhibition of contemporary art set within two stripped back and neglected Victorian houses in Peckham. Curated by Julie Hoyle, the exhibition brings together a cross-section of artists, from Royal Academicians and established practitioners to emerging artists, alongside those working within disability and community contexts. Painting, sculpture, print, installation, ceramics and moving image are placed throughout the houses, shifting the atmosphere from room to room. Private View: Friday 15 May, 5-8pm Open: 15, 16 & 17 May, 11am-4pm Safehouses, 139 Copeland Road, London SE15 Slide 1: Oona Grimes The mighty dead ….woo woo’ 2020 1:55 minutes Slide 2: Tessa Farmer Film still from work in progress @grimesoona @tessaefarmer

‘Duet’ a film I made of two gardens, The El Paso Municipal Rose Garden, Texas, USA and El Huerto Del Senor Community Garden, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, across spring 2022, will be screened this evening in the Garden of Danielle Arnaud Venice, alongside a screening of my dad Neville Gabie’s film, ‘Father of my Father’ Dad’s film is a semi-autobiographical work filmed in a disused drive-in cinema in South Africa. ‘Duet’ explores the different consequences of the international border for both these gardens, in different countries but only 7.5 miles apart. Tonight 6-9pm - Please come if you’re in Venice! RSVP to [email protected] Hope to see some of you x

COMING SOON ‘Footholds’
Neville Gabie and Freya Gabie at Danielle Arnaud Venice Preview will take place 5-10 May, in the presence of the artists.
Exhibition continues until: 22 November 2026 ‘Footholds’ is open by appointment only. To visit in Venice, please email: [email protected] A foothold is a place of security, a position tentatively sought out and tested for stability; its ability to hold firm without yielding to your weight, shifting, disintegrating, tipping you off balance. It is the physical act of finding purchase in the world around you. A foothold also provides the foundation for a moment’s rest, a pause between movement: an exhalation. Artists Freya Gabie and Neville Gabie have been negotiating this precarious city - neither solid ground, nor purely water - developing a series of responses as part of an ongoing project which will be further developed through the summer of 2026. ‘Footholds’ is our sixth project in Venice as part of an ongoing programme where artists are invited to spend time in Venice and reflect on their practice, and the city. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the closing event of ‘absolute now II’ accompanied by the sensory workshop ‘A Moment Held: A Ritual for Shared Presence’ led by Tereza Stehlíková. We shared a very special afternoon in the garden, exploring memories evoked through sensory associations. Thank you to Tereza for leading such a thoughtful workshop, and to all who participated and generously shared stories connected to their objects. Documentation of the exhibition ‘absolute now II’ will be available on our website soon. @kazispresent @tereza_stehlikova @george.barber.artist @lynnloofilm @rieko_da_beshi #absolutenowII

A very special visit from the Fine Art students of Camberwell College of Arts, as Kaz, curator and exhibiting artist of ‘absolute now II’, discussed the underlying themes of the exhibition. This is the final week to see ‘absolute now II’, closing this Saturday, 18 April. To arrange a visit please email [email protected] The exhibition’s closing event this Saturday will be accompanied by a sensory workshop led by Tereza Stehliková, ‘A Moment Held: A Ritual for Shared Presence’, from 2–5pm. Participants are invited to bring one object connected to a dear memory, and one object chosen intuitively on the day. Through sharing stories and sensory associations, we will create a small ritual for the present moment. Doors open at 2pm. The workshop starts promptly at 2.30pm. The exhibition will be open before and after, with tea and cakes. Booking is essential: [email protected] @camberwellual @kazispresent @tereza_stehlikova @lynnloofilm @rieko_da_beshi @george.barber.artist #DanielleArnaud #absolutenowII

We are pleased to share that gallery artist Oona Grimes has donated ‘Etruscan ghost: Medea syndrome #c’ to the Drawing Room Biennial, opening next Thursday 16 April. The Drawing Biennial returns with more than 300 new and original drawings by leading international artists. The free exhibition at Drawing Room culminates in a two-week online auction fundraiser, with bidding starting at £400. As Drawing Room prepares to mark its 25th anniversary in 2027, this twelfth edition of the Drawing Biennial brings together artists working at the forefront of contemporary practice, reaffirming drawing as a vital and enduring discipline. Each artist is invited to produce a new drawing on A4 paper, using any medium. Selected by a committee of invited curators and collectors alongside Drawing Room’s Co-founders and Directors, participating artists respond to themes spanning ecology, identity, spirituality, politics and imagined worlds. @grimesoona @drawingroomlondon #DanielleArnaud #OonaGrimes
