We all need to start talking about Money Trauma. Find @moneytraumapodcast on all available streaming platforms from March 6th, 2026.
3 out of 4 Gen-Zs and Millennials have PTSD-like symptoms caused by financially induced stress. Mental health and trauma have gotten more into the mainstream, and yet we don’t apply the same lens to money. Money Trauma is a six part podcast mini-series that challenges the idea that money behaviours are a purely rational topic. It uncovers commonly referred to economic experiences like financial stress, gambling, wealth accumulation and impulsive spending from a trauma-informed and social perspective - something that has never been done before with the topic. Follow us on a journey all over the world speaking to experts about how these stories contradict the real experience people have psychologically and socially - and who ends up benefitting from these stories.

"A new limited series documentary hosted and co-produced by Miho Soon, who got her start in crypto but started to get worried that the products she was making was encouraging gambling. (It’s co-produced and edited by Phoebe McIndoe, who has made some of my favorite things.) Money Trauma isn’t beating us over the head with tips, it uses storytelling to help us see the real ways most millennials and genZers have experienced financial anxiety."

🌳Join us for a workshop with Miho Soon, a Germany-based researcher, facilitator, and designer from Malaysia, whose work centers around financial trauma, economic psychology and justice. She began her journey in the crypto industry, where she witnessed firsthand how technological solutions often ignore the emotional realities of economic life.
💸Research about financial stress and trauma shows us that living through chronic economic stress, striving for expectations we can’t meet, and inheriting generational money scripts can impact our relationship with money and work. And yet money is consistently treated as as a rational matter, a taboo subject - despite the fact that it is fundamentally connected to survival, belonging and identity.
🏦The stress of living under economic scarcity and competition have a real impact on human psychology - as it funnels people towards conservation and security😣. Global economic crises are often then weaponized by populist narratives and ideological actors with imaginaries that propel more consumerism, technosolutionism and acceleration without consideration, and removing protections for vulnerable people. What does that mean when we desperately, urgently need to change capitalism as usual? What does it mean to engage with our personal and intergenerational histories with the economy?
🕊In this 90-minute workshop, Miho Soon invites us to explore the emotional and psychological roots of our relationships with money—and imagine new ways forward➡️. We’ll take a closer look at the narratives we’ve inherited, how they intersect with our upbringing, culture and technology - and what it means to shift towards more liberating, just, and post-growth understandings of value and ‘the good life.’

Berlin is home to one of the largest Palestinian communities in Europe - so lets show up for our neighbours, come together and support through solidarity and community. See you there.. 🍉💚 (AND LETS RAISE SOME MONEY!!!!)
恭喜发财, as in hope you get rich, but in all forms of wealth life has to offer
新年快乐, as in happy new year, and may you shed all the versions of yourself that no longer serve you this year of the snake
Fearuring me celebrating Chinese New Year for the first time in six years in the motherland, our money-centric traditions that circulate wealth and make everyone really happy, our maximalist spiritual symbolism and the beautiful tropical forests and seascapes of Southeast Asia💕
Thank you to everyone who came to support the Music 4 Lebanon & Palestine Fundraiser at @crackbellmer on the 24th of November. We're grateful to have raised €5300, which exceeded our expectations by magnitudes. In these dark times, it was an absolutely warm and meaningful evening to spend with all of you. We're so honoured 300+ people showed up - thank you Berlin❤️
But it does not end here. We urgently need to find more ways to help. We know that us coming together is one of the most powerful ways to mobilize ourselves to action. Do not stop raising money, do not stop putting pressure for change.
Consider further donations to @thelastturtle@ghadir.aldasht@dowansierraleone@tresmariaslebanon@remanorganization

"It is only when people feel left behind and unacknowledged, when a vacuum is created for stories that are individualistic or segregative to emerge, that those who feel abandoned are scooped up by harmful extremism — all under the illusion of care."
In her latest article, money #trauma expert and #PostGrowth Fellow, Miho Soon, explores how our cultural stories about #money, work, and success are tied to growth-driven systems—and why reimagining these narratives is essential for a fairer, more sustainable future.
