From a more realistic perspective, you have not had the same impact on the people of Gaza as before. As one resident living in the tents in Gaza said: “It would have been better to donate money to Gaza instead of throwing it into the sea without benefit.”
As journalists, we supported you in the first flotilla, and also in the second. We supported you while we were living under bombardment, losing our families, loved ones, and friends. Yet we still believed in your message and appreciated what you were doing for Palestine.
However, in all honesty, both we and you understand that reaching Gaza under the current conditions is extremely difficult, if not impossible. Therefore, it may be more useful to redirect these financial efforts toward humanitarian organizations inside Gaza, so the aid can reach families who are living in extremely harsh conditions and need all possible support.
We are not against you; on the contrary, we hold you in great respect and affection. But it is important to think rationally alongside emotion.
