We’re proud to have supported an important discussion this week with the top mayoral candidates here in New Orleans. This is a critical election cycle for the music community and we appreciate @helenamorenola , @royce_duplessis , and @otforus taking the time to discuss the community’s concerns. Make sure you use your voice by voting up and down the ticket tomorrow (Saturday October 11th) so we can bring the power back to the people of NOLA.

As residents of the Bywater, we are deeply concerned with how ‘The Grain Train’ project is going to affect our neighbors in the Lower 9th. 20 years later, the 9th ward is still recovering from the affects of Katrina, and this proposed project will decimate the health and livelihood of all residents in the area. Industry should serve communities, not destroy them. The Lower 9th deserves clean air and safe streets - their homes are sacred and their health is non negotiable. Far too often corporations are allowed into our Louisiana communities with no environmental impact studies, and no regard for how they pollute the areas they operate in. Environmental injustice anywhere threatens us everywhere. Stop the Grain Train! SWIPE for more info and follow @stopthegraintrain to learn how we can speak up for our neighbors, friends, and community.
