I am always looking for new ways to push a story forward to help shape the style of a film. That can mean a number of things for the style - naturalism vs. expressionist, framing choices - the list can go on and on. When I read the script Piggy, I felt like there was an opportunity to push the limits here with what the main character, Evan, is really going through. We intentionally lit and framed in ways that would make the audience uncomfortable - overexposed the image, extreme closeups, diopters, filtration, and some pretty awesome and well timed lens flares throughout the story. Can’t wait for this project to come out into the world and I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work on this film. Leading up to this project, I read a ton of emails and 40+ pages of a pitch deck about how this club would transform into #StudioCheez - lights, drinks, food, the dance floor. “Most of All” - a short film directed by @craig3709 . The film intermixes dream and reality in a church/bedroom setting, which gave us a lot of room to experiment with lighting and camera movement. Our goal was to shoot each scene in as few shots as possible, so the film could really only be edited one way. @vglongo created a stained glass cucoloris along with a cross shaped gobo to really set the mood. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
