استكشافًا للروابط الثقافية التاريخية من خلال الأزياء وضمن إطار التعاون مع M7، ابتكرت المصممة القطرية مشاعل النعيمي، صاحبة العلامة التجارية مهفهف، إعادة تصوّر للدفة في سياق حديث، وذلك بتصميم عباءة من الحرير المنسوج يدويًا، مستوحاة من الجمال المعماري لباب القصبة في المغرب. – في تمثيل للبشت بلمسة رقي معاصرة وتكريم لتراثه الغني. تستلهم مشاعل اليمي، إلهامها من تراثها العربي وتكرس نفسها للحفاظ على الحرف القديمة. تتعاون مع الحرفيين لتجديد التقنيات التقليدية التي تسلط الضوء على جمال المنطقة، بما في ذلك الممارسة المبتكرة لرسم الحناء الدائم على الأقمشة العضوية. تدعو أعمال مشاعل إلى تقدير القصص والاستدامة وراء كل قطعة. معروض في متحف قطر الوطني حتى 18 يناير 2025 Exploring historical cultural connections through fashion: the National Museum of Qatar and M7 showcase Qatari-Moroccan fusion in design by Mashael Alnaimi, presented in collaboration with @m7.qatar as part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture. @yearsofculture Mashael Alnaimi, the creator of @mhefhef , is inspired by her Arabic heritage and is dedicated to preserving ancient crafts. She collaborates with artisans to rejuvenate traditional techniques that highlight the region’s beauty, including the innovative practice of permanent henna painting on organic fabric. Mashael’s work invites appreciation for the stories and sustainability behind each piece. On display @nmoqatar until January 18th 2025

In the latest issue of #VogueArabia, Alnaimi pens a deeply personal letter tracing her journey to founding Mhefhef, her slow, sustainable fashion brand producing fewer than 100 silk abayas a year – each hand-embroidered by Palestinian women from Gaza living in Qatar. Her designs have been worn by Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned, and she has received steadfast support from Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. “The idea that if you are an older woman you have to disappear or that you have no space at the table is wrong,” she writes. “To all the women who are over 50, I want to say that I believe every one of you has a talent.
