At 8 PM, @melsstarr will join me for a live acoustic performance and interview (and we will figure out how to fit an upright bass in studio C!). new single “fixed fate” is out today :,) listen anywhere you get music besides spotify this song is about grief. it’s about my dad. it’s me grieving my dad. i had such a hard time feeling and expressing anything to him or to anyone, especially when he was first diagnosed when i was in high school. its kind of anger, kind of acceptance, kind of just processing what happened before, during and after. to watch someone you love die slowly and painfully and to have no control over it is complicated and excruciating and it fucking sucks. and i don’t think ill ever be over it. i have so many questions i would ask him now, so many things i would say and want to argue and confide in him about. i feel sad every time i realize i don’t get the chance. this song is so, so different than the rest of the album - it’s angry, it’s loud, it’s literally a different genre than everything else. it was really hard to make, honestly. thanks for listening and getting this far. this song wouldn’t be possible without @projectjunebug she did so much to help build out the sound of this song mastering: @daughterboardaudio photos: @ya___z thank you to @nineathensmusic for making this project possible :)
