For the past two years Meanwhile Space, in partnership with @wemakegood , has activated two former regeneration hubs as part of the wider estate regeneration programmes in Custom House and Canning Town. These spaces act as test beds for local people to trial, develop and grow their ideas within a supportive environment.
Activities currently range from British Sign Language courses and coffee mornings to gardening sessions, fitness classes and much more.
We are really looking forward to seeing how these projects continue to evolve over the next year and to supporting even more local ideas, connections and opportunities within the community.

James is an award-winning Rotherhithe based playwright, screenwriter and writing tutor working across theatre, radio and screen.
His unit, The Playwright’s Library, serves as a writing studio, along with a teaching and mentoring space ✏️📚

Looking back at the Easter Creative Day that the brilliant Art Park collective organised! 🐣
Art Park members all got together to bring a day of crafts and creativity to Art Park. With various workshops happening throughout the day, including:

They ended the day with a big Easter egg hunt for families to enjoy. A lovely day for the Harrow community, and just one of many community events that are happening at Art Park this year!

We have a team of volunteers who are ready to be put to work. But these keen and hardy weeders and waterers need direction 😢
If you are a qualified or experienced gardener who would like the chance to pilot a project, develop a new feature of the garden (bonjour frog pond), or gain experience leading volunteers, this could be your calling!
The Hithe Community Garden is a semi-private space, with: 🐛Hugel mounds
🪴 Raised planters
🥕 A greenhouse
🪱 Compost bays
🔨 A pergola
🔥 A brick braai
Becoming part of The Hithe Gardening Collective is a chance to take ownership of an element of a small garden, to skill share with likeminded people, and to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and wildlife. This is a collaborative, supportive environment where you have the freedom to see your ideas materialise.
*NB this is not a paid position, rather an opportunity to take on stewardship of a space! The level of commitment can be relatively low, and agreed based on individual availability*
