//2 gigs next weekend with 2 different improvised experimental music projects//
a year ago I had just graduated from jazz school and was feeling very disillusioned with the rigid and hierarchical nature of music academia and sick of trying to do everything the ‘right’ way, and set a goal for myself to start making connections in the free jazz and improvised avant-garde music scene in philly. feeling really proud of the progress I've made jumping into a new scene where I knew basically zero people, and even more proud of the progress I've made artistically in playing these new kinds of music. Inverse and Obverse and Glazier/Ranaglia both showcase probably the most honest expression of my inner world I've ever been able to access through drumming. It'll mean a lot to me if you come to a show next weekend
friday - inverse and obverse ( with @aaron_pond_scum@onlyevertoday@bertharrisbassie ) at andre cafe acoustique
sunday - glazier/ranaglia ( with @ajranaglia03 ) at maas building via @fire_museum_presents
