Vivente is now yours 💝 I’m so excited to share this 2-part audio-visual project that explores how electronic music can feel organic and of the earth. I’ve been carving this new sound world for the past few years and it feels so good to finally share it with you. This is just a taste of more music to come…I really hope the tracks give you some energy in these untethered times.
You can watch Vivente on @youtubemusic and you can stream it on @bandcamp and all other platforms. Link in bio ⬆️
So excited to share the music+more @wildpathsfestival THIS FRIDAY with my fave @fayejams . We’ll be headlining the @jdoeandco stage at 21:30. Come move with us.
Endlessly grateful for the amazing team who helped realise the vision. I felt so held in this creative process by everyone. What resulted is a piece of art that I’m so proud of despite doing this totally independently on a small budget. It was the first time I created something whilst really consciously holding my boundaries around long covid and my capacity. Sharing this now is a reminder to keep moving with slow steady paces.

So grateful to have spent January in the Southern Hemisphere, in Naarm (Melbourne), Lutruwita (Tasmania) and around North Island of Aotearoa (New Zealand) 💚
Biggest love to our family for putting us up! This adventure was the result of friendships made through many years of music making. Thank you Allysha, Finn, JY, Rob and Tina for welcoming us into your homes and being the best guides through the bush and East Asian eateries.
As a white person who’s grown up in Europe, you can’t shake the eeriness of coming to the other side of the world and it feeling so familiar. After a journey so long, your ears are expecting to hear foreign language. Your skin feels the sun is a strength it wasn’t made to withstand. Yet it felt like a kind-of-Europe but with wider roads, younger buildings and a more drastic climate. The absence of indigenous culture, especially in so called ‘Australia’, is deeply saddening and strange. This chasm was made by the Brits, my ancestors, and demands reparation.
Much of our time was spent in nature which, despite European interference, holds onto a sovereignty and freedom colonial forces can’t take away. Everyone who we met had a deep respect for the bush and the sea. The land and indigenous philosophies instils a sense of awe, wariness and obligation to only take what you need and to give back. I’m so grateful to have been able to recharge in the midst of so many special places, many of which have sadly lost their true names. Giving thanks and reverence to the stewards of these lands, past and present 💚
2025 in 1 minute and 32 seconds⏩💚staying grateful for the networks I’m part of, the beautiful places we’ve been together and music! Thank you for making last year so special. Wishing more community, connecting to land and collective learnings for us all as we continue through this wild world
I made my first print 📰 (also can you spot the cat😽?)
Thank you @electronicsoundmag and Carl Griffin for this lovely little write up in the December issue. They managed to capture the energy of Vivente so succinctly and referenced artists who’ve had a big impact on me - the late Roberta Flack, @aroojaftab and Yuki Nagano 💗 in this strange online world, it gives me those fuzzy in-the-body feels to flick through this gorgeous print and let the inked words land on me as they fly off the paper. Grateful 🙏🏻
Also want to shout out everyone who’s been playing the record on radio! Nothing beats hearing your music on the airwaves. Hearing it as part of a mix gives it a whole new flavour, makes it part of a sonic story. Big love to @deebydacreator@rohan_rakhit@tinaedwardsdj@sowetokinch@steve_lamacq@stumaconie 💗
Thanks @someonegreatpr for all your support and thank you (yes you the sweet human reading this) for supporting and listening
I never thought I would be a researcher, but 2025 had other plans for me! So grateful for @queercircle for giving me the opportunity to create the Embodied Voice podcast 💚 link in bio to listen and get involved in it!
for people who know me, I’m pretty obsessed with how gender and the voice intertwine. It’s hard to put into words what it meant for me to have the opportunity to dive deeper into this relationship, and be able to do it in a way that supported others also grappling with the same questions.
We created the Queering the Voice course, and followed the journeys of queer and trans+ folks as they chewed on offerings that guided them to form decolonised relationships with their voices. @transchorus hosted workshops alongside the process, digging into discoveries and themes a little more through gorgeous group improvisations. There was lots of silliness and laughter throughout. There was also screeches and sobs and sighs. People generously shared their perspectives with me, their family vocal traditions and their light bulb moments. This was the highlight of the whole project for me. Thank you to those who trusted me with their stories.
Sewing this tapestry of voices together was a beautiful challenge that had me screeching too! But I was so lucky to have found the amazing @axelkacoutie who was so affirming in the work. They lifted it and found the sounds to make it whole.
And now after 9 months of work and years of thinking about this, we have a 3-part podcast that tries to answer how embodied singing generates autonomy and resilience in queer and trans+ people. There are many moments for the listener to go on the journey. My greatest wish is that it provides some tools to be a unique body in this wild world. And that it can educate allies about the ways in which queer and trans+ voices are received / perceived, so hopefully we can make some real change.
Love to everyone who was involved! The conversation keeps on 💗
