Part museum experiment, part documentary project, Re-Framed presents the iconic work of photographer Marc Hom (
@marchomstudio ) in an entirely new light. Blending a classic indoor exhibition with monumental outdoor installations, the show invites viewers to experience portrait photography in fresh and unexpected ways.
At the Fenimore Art Museum, Hom’s eleven-foot-tall portraits are displayed on the open lawn by the lakeshore, exposed to shifting weather and light. These towering, sculptural works change with the elements, transforming each visit into a unique encounter with both image and environment.
Spanning more than two decades, Re-Framed captures Hom’s singular ability to stage private, emotionally resonant moments with some of the world’s most recognizable faces. The book includes powerful portraits of Quentin Tarantino, Samuel L. Jackson, Rafael Nadal, Taylor Swift, and Miley Cyrus, among others.
Whether as a companion to the groundbreaking exhibition or a standalone volume, this beautifully designed book reflects the bold spirit of the project itself. As Marc Hom says, it is “the beauty of the unexpected” that lies at the heart of the experience.
