Finally getting round to sharing this years show case. The second MYOM collective debuted their work in September this year, as we returned to Somerset House as part of @l_d_f_official Two collectives in, the MYOM club is definitely growing. I’d just like to share a quick thank you to you all, for trusting in MYOM, it’s by no means an easy ride, but it’s been a huge honour to work with you all, watch you all come together to support each other and be a part of sharing so much talent x 📷A big thank you to @joncarchdeacon for the photos. We massively appreciate you capturing such a big night.

MYOM Alumni - Alina Negoita *REPOST Jin, Jiyan, Azadi: Women, Life, Freedom out now in @contrajournal (1/2) • The latest issue offers a fresh interpretation of the theme of ruin, bringing together stories of destruction and demise, but also of revival and regeneration. Contributors include Simon Norfolk, Cornelia Parker, Nadav Kander, Michael Rakowitz, Keith Piper, Giles Price, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Sonia Boyce, Nick Brandt, Alina Negoita, the Gentle Author and many more. Jin, Jiyan, Azadi: Women, Life, Freedom | 2016 - 2017 | More info here - /jinjiyanazadi/ Patriarchy, capitalism, nation state – they all are ultimately about control; control that keeps oppression and inequality in place. Who is legitimate and who is not? Who is a freedom fighter? Who is a terrorist? Who controls the women’s bodies and with what political intent? Can a state be a terrorist? Jin, Jiyan,Azadi:Women, Life, Freedom is an interdisciplinary project which documents the women’s liberation movement in Rojava (Northern Syria) by looking at freedom and identity in terms of genderpolitics, geopolitics, and cybersecurity. From Google Maps visualization of the places liberated – both territorially and ideologically, from collected materials and archives to recorded interviews questioning what freedom means for Kurdish women, the project aims for intimacy even when divided by a here/there binary and reflects on how Kurdish women are currently creating an alternative language that might shape how politics is done in Middle East.

MYOM Alumni - Eilish Briscoe *REPOST I Don’t Have The Words, an exhibition by Eilish Briscoe, on display at Art Practice Gallery until 25 August 2025. Briscoe’s latest work explores language, meaning and communication, aspects of herself altered after a stroke in 2020. It features her typeface ‘maybe’, created from handwriting samples from that period, and examines the graphic and sculptural possibilities of letterforms when language is separated from meaning. 15% of profits from the exhibition will be donated to @thestrokeassociation and @differentstrokesuk

MYOM Alumni - Flora Macleod *REPOST Here’s some photos from Hidden Life at Outernet. It was so nice for us to finally see the work out in the wild and being experienced by people after spending so long with only a few people really knowing what the piece felt like. For me the best bits were seeing the tests in an empty dark space when there is really time to sit quietly and understand your piece at scale, and to see all our friends and strangers watching, appreciating, or being excited about our work - and obviously spending ages looking at beautiful images of plankton!! 🥰🥰 📷 by @monevulcano + outernet Creative Direction & Concept: Flora Macleod @flora.macleod Design & Animation: Simone Vulcano @monevulcano & Flora Macleod @flora.macleod Sound Design: Henry Sims @simshenrysound

I was delighted to receive my first MYOM brief from Studio Exception, who have been unbelievably supportive and generous in mentoring me through this project. Using their beautiful methodology, I have been working with an exceptional individual called Dominique. Together, we have been discovering ways to improve and sustain her access to dance - something which brings so much joy to her life on so many levels. The process has involved lots of long discussions over rose tea, countless fabric tests, vast amounts of textiles research, and so much laughter! I am in the final stages of this project, which is still expanding in unexpected directions. I have really enjoyed using The Exception Method, and letting things emerge in a way which has felt so natural and organic. @flomeredithdesign @studioexception
