Yesterday, I spent 2 hours alone basking in the Collisions of Commissions installation

It was magical and emotional and overwhelming to sit in 10 years of material, relationships, art that has been made under the umbrella of FORM
💫 I kept thinking about all the humans behind all these films who made them happen. All the love and energy and care that went into each of those productions
💫 It was so amazing to see films from 2016 next to films from 2024
💫 I thought of all the memories and conversations I had with each of these artists as they were learning how to navigate how to make film for the first time
💫 I thought about their premiere dates, and the joy and nervous energy they had before and after their screenings
💫 I thought about all the spaces in and around Vancouver that these films were made in, like
@what__lab ,
@left_of_main ,
@thedancecentrebc @cineworksvan and more— I thought of the generous containers and spaces that hold us artists and who have made space for us to play and try and process
💫 It was so sweet and special to see the logos grow and grow at the end of the films every year, the funders, the partnerships, the support networks are so so big and strong
💫 There was a sweet moment when I was watching one screen, and remembered Elizabeth and
@chin.aidan film, and I had an impulse to look over my shoulder, and there she was dancing in the Sun Yat-Sen garden
💫 A special moment was when I was watching
@_____________jr ’s incredible film, and crying as I was witnessing Zahra dancing on screen. At the same moment, her film soft teeth was playing on the screen beside me, and was also being projected on the wall — so the reflection of her film was also in the screen with Jamies film. It was so nice to dance with you again Z 💓
