Maison Fauna 🤝 @av_rsion We’re teaming up to celebrate this double-LP release in an intimate warehouse with the lovely Maison Fauna Sound System — which we just 🙌 recharged with fresh ⛰️ Catskill creek energy at In the Open last week 🫠 (recordings coming soon). @ladystarlightnyc [LIVE] @__kxah @paal_voitax @shak___av @__viiaan Lady Starlight is a Berlin-based live hardware act whose music has been described as “rich and evocative techno with a muscular frame” and “138 BPM techno that feels like a cool breeze.” If you’re familiar with Lady S and her work, then you know her entire career embraces this beautiful duality. She can smash an arena set with Lady Gaga with that same ever-present smile and bravado as a three hour improvised techno set with Sterac or Surgeon (and sometimes both! See her contributions to the STOOR Live in Paradiso - ADE 2021, which has been on repeat at our studio for some time now). As the physical embodiment of everything that we love about techno, we were thrilled to have her join us for our record release. If you haven’t caught her doing a solo headlining set, you’re truly in for a treat. We’re super grateful to have KXAH, Paàl, SSG_, and Viiaan bringing their own unique flavors from their respective corners of the globe to this techno bouillabaisse we’re cooking. BDFM is out today (finally 😏) exclusively on Bandcamp! We’re feelin sweet, so if you buy the vinyl today, you can get into the release party with @ladystarlightnyc (and along with: @kxah @paal_voitax @ssg_ @__viiaan ) tomorrow for FREEEE (if you already bought it, your on the list 😉). You’ll also get a Tyvek record bag when you buy direct from us. We made some limited merch for the occasion, as well (swipe to check it out). Vinyl should ship next week (we were a little delayed bc of the typhoon). This project has been about a year and a half in the making. It went through a name change, aesthetic re-imaginging (thanks to @matthewbowers and illustrations from @chiung.zhang and digital wizardry by @rayhays ), and taken on a new life. We have been huge fans of @thebrvtalist ’s curation for a while now, so we were chuffed af when they agreed to premiere the final two tracks from our compilation today! By the way, the official release party with @ladystarlightnyc is next Saturday (7/27) in a cozy warehouse, and you can come to the warehouse party for free if you buy a record. Did we mention that you also get a free record tote if you preorder? Now would be a great time to let her rip! First up is Italy’s live techno duo, @aderal_live . We’ve been great friends with them for multiple years as they’ve grown and evolved their sound. These talented boys can do it all (@nico_aderal also mastered the compilation). It was a matter of time before we got to welcome them to the Maison Fauna family. They do so with a cinematic broken beat face rearranger that’s ready to flip the script on the dancefloor. Lastly (but not leastly), we welcome the mysterious DJ LÜGE from Berlin. The opening track on the record, it’s a chuggy head nod type groove for those experimental hours. This is track is a preview of a nasty industrial-drenched full length of chuggers forthcoming on the label (for fans of Tzusing and early L.I.E.S material). Our new friends at mighty @voxnoxberlin 😈 are premiering tracks today from two of our NY favorites: @tommy.value and @__viiaan . Tommy Value is a Brooklyn-based producer and dj from Australia whose sound is influenced by hardgroove and tribal aesthetics of the early 2000s. Founder of the @beautiful.machines_ event series and label, he has a passion for live electronics and an eclectic palette, which he brings together into eclectic and spontaneous selection in his sets. His track for the compilation makes us nostalgic for sweaty UK raves from from simpler times that we never got to attend (bc we were actual babies). 🥵 It’s a certified banger. ✅ Viiaan is our sonic alchemist from CDMX. She wears so many creative hats: producer, dj, label owner, party curator, photographer, filmmaker, clothing designer… we could honestly go on. If you know her style, you’re probably already familiar with Viiaan’s sonic range. For this release, we have a rare techno track from the artist featuring big drums, a haunting vocal, and an irresistible groove. It’s been a long time in the making, but we are happy to finally welcome @paal_voitax to the label with his techno groover, “Dream Up,” premiering on @fhlondon_ (link in bio). Paàl is one of the hardest working artists that we know. Despite his long list of accolades, extensive body of work, and taste making curation of his label (Voitax), his recent releases suggest the Berliner is just beginning to hit his stride. Our new friends at @polishtechno.logy_ptl have been so kind as to premiere @willemwolfe ’s track, Dead Star. It’s a tripped out syncopated dancefloor treat for those feet 🫠 🐺 Willem Wolfe is a DJ, musician, and producer based in Los Angeles. Born into an entertainment family, the mad lad has been immersed in music production since he was in diapers. 🍬 When we first met Willem, he was fronting his LA-based punk band, FIM. From there he honed his skills in electronic music production while simultaneously forming his second band, JUGGS, an electronic duo. 👽 When he’s not wheat pasting for Obey or exposing government lies, he’s creating music that weaves what he hears and imagines into a sonic pillow you can lie your little head upon. 💿July 27th: @maisonfauna BDFM record release: in partnership with @av_rsion @__kxah is a dj, producer, curator and Aversion Label co-founder. Her sets are high-energy and hypnotic, always flexing her pitch perfect technique and taste-making ability. If you’ve caught one of her sets in Nyc, Detroit or beyond, you already know: her style and energy are infectious. SSG is the brains behind Aversion, headquartered in Boston, increasingly in NYC. His deft hand and musical knowledge is displayed both in his dj sets and the forward-thinking lineups he curates in unexpected venues. What is a lineup, anyway, except an extended, 10-armed dj set?
