The artists of TGB.
I grew up Catholic. I was taught to look up... to place people on pedestals, to kneel, to revere from a distance. I remember the ache in my knees on wooden pews. Devotion meant lowering yourself.
I’m still unlearning that.
When I come to TGB, I feel ritual in my bones again, but it’s different. The ache moved from my knees to my feet. If you’ve danced for hours and then stopped, you know that deep, full-body soreness. That’s our offering now. Not submission, participation.
Some of these artists cross oceans to be here. Some drive two hours. There’s reverence in the journey. There should be. What they do matters. They hold the sound. They shape the atmosphere. They carry us through long nights and early mornings.
And still.
You’ll find them wandering the farm. Sitting on lounge chairs. Talking like regular human beings. I’ve sat next to someone on Sunday morning, just chatting about life, only to realize halfway through that they’re playing main stage later that day.
I’ve watched friends I’ve known for years step behind the decks and felt this swell in my chest. Not awe, well maybe just a little. Pride.
Proud like a mom.
Proud of the risk it takes to create. Proud of the discipline. Proud of the growth over summers. Proud that they crossed state lines or continents to share something with us. Proud that when they step down, they step back into the crowd like the rest of us.
We can celebrate them without idolizing them.
They are incredibly talented. They deserve admiration. But they are also in line at the food truck. On the dance floor. Catching rides. Sweating. Laughing. Living.
TGB feels sacred to me because the altar is gone.
There’s no pedestal.
Just us... doing cool, beautiful, human things together.
And I am so damn proud of the people behind the decks.
Normally around this time of year, we’d be announcing the line up for our annual Meta Ta Physika party in Detroit. Unfortunately, Meta won’t be happening this year. We look forward to welcoming all of our TGB ride-or-dies in July!

This year asked a lot of us.
From our bodies. From our time. From our hearts.
Somewhere out in the valley, there’s a place that moves slower.
Not louder. Not bigger. Just steadier.
Built by people who show up early, stay late, pass water, hold space, and look out for one another.
The Great Beyond isn’t something you rush into.
It’s something you ease into.
A gathering shaped by many hands and many quiet acts of care.
And sometimes, that remembering is enough to start again.
July 24–26, 2026.
If you find yourself listening for something quieter... the hills will be there.
Happy Holidays from Intellephunk, and The Great Beyond.

Another year of TGB on the books, means another year of @andihillestad aka Pussycore’s incredible stage art!!! This year a collab with Nestic was able to create a piece using LED lights that could be programmed by the lighting team. We have been super fortunate to work with work with Andi, and a we are grateful for all of the bad ass rave art she has made for us over the last several years. It’s really rad having our own hand crafted custom made stage lighting. Thank You Andi!
