Been awhile since I’ve posted to this page with anything on the ‘upcoming’ roster.The summer season is always something of a special one for many reasons and COMMUNION is one of the tried and true seasonal experiences that always get me excited. As a dance floor freaker, this is one of those spaces that just always brings me back to the roots of burying myself face first in a stack of subs with my friends and finding joy in the moments.I fondly refer to this party as almost an industry night for a lot of us. A chance for promoters and dj’s alike to wind out the week, find some time to get some sun and generally let loose to cut a rug.Beyond excited to be taking part in performances this year again alongside an absolute ROSTER of international and regional talent featured this season.COMMUNION season 20SYOTDF and behind the speakers September 6th

Memoirs of a Midwest Freak — here’s some highlights from Midwest Freaks 3, an almost impossible moment to capture, where 3 crews came together, @intellephunk from Minneapolis, MN, @remaininnight from Madison, WI, and @ithqdetroit from Detroit, MI. MWF3 began with a joyous and playfully devilish set from Madison’s @goodheavensitspaul. The night unfolded with live shows from 2 of the main visionaries from their crews, with a totally dialed in live show from @stevencentrific and a monument of deep sound from @erikadotnet. Really inspirational to see such shows from people so involved in the creation not only of this show, but whole complete event arcs and festivals, and ultimately communities. The night continued with a devastating set from an artist all three crews find very inspiring — @rrose1921. We travelled deep into the wormhole and beyond. @__bbmmgg__ closed the night in a powerful juxtaposition of sound that energized and invigorated, leaving the freaks with a total highlight until next time. A huge thank you to everyone who helped this come together, and seeing @amber.gillen and the @__infinite_dimensions__ crew combine with the other crews was really magical.
