Another great MADE Socials day.
This time we attended TOCA Social and finished the day with some food from Burger & Sauce.
Opportunities like this are always important. Giving young people the chance to enjoy themselves outside of school settings, build positive relationships, laugh, play, and simply enjoy being young really matters.
Safe spaces, positive experiences, and opportunities to connect with others can make a huge difference in a young person’s wellbeing and development.

I’ve made some Easter-themed nature weaving boards for the children to enjoy on our hike tomorrow.
The idea is for them to forage for fallen flowers and greenery along the way, then create a beautiful nature keepsake from their walk.
We can’t wait to walk with you all ❤️💛💚

Mentoring isn’t about knowing everything.
It’s about showing up.
Being present.
Listening deeply.
Asking the kind of questions that make a young person stop and think.
Real mentoring gives young people space to reflect, grow and find their own way without feeling rushed or judged.
One conversation can change perspective.
One session can build belief.
One consistent adult can make all the difference.
Whether it’s a 1:1 check-in or a group conversation, the impact is in the relationship.
In the trust.
In the consistency.
In being real enough to meet young people where they are, while helping them see where they could go.
That’s the work.
That’s the impact.
That’s why mentoring matters.

Too often we label young people as “disadvantaged” or “disengaged”… but what does that really mean?
From what we’ve seen, most young people aren’t broken or lost, they just need the right support at the right time.
Sometimes it’s not about programmes, systems, or interventions.
It’s about having one person they can trust.
Someone who will listen without judgement.
Someone who won’t panic.
Someone who won’t immediately escalate things out of their control.
Because for many young people, opening up feels risky.
They worry that speaking their truth will bring consequences, police, social services, or things spiralling beyond them.
But when trust is built properly, everything changes.
When they know you’ll handle things calmly, safely, and with their best interest at heart, they open up.
They let you in.
And more importantly, they allow you to help them get the outcome they actually need.
Maybe the question isn’t “are they disadvantaged?”
Maybe the question is:
“Do they have someone they trust?”

Happy International Women’s Day
Really honoured to have shared the stage today with some incredible women @liaconsultancy@unfoldandrise , @_bellebeing_@blesst.group talking about modern matriarchy. We had such a wholesome conversation around motherhood, the role fathers play in the home, and how we as parents support, teach and shape the next generation.
It was also blessing to see some old faces and to meet some new ones.
Spaces like this are so important, and we definitely need more conversations like this happening.
Thank you @iwd.conference@work.in.process.cic for the opportunity to be part of today’s event.
Looking forward to many more in the future.

We could not have imagined this a year ago.
Meet Eillah. She has created a platform called @bloomingintheedark . a safe space where young people experiencing mental health challenges can speak openly, through conversation and poetry.
Rather than hiding her experiences, Eillah has chosen to transform them into purpose. Through her words and creativity, she is helping to break silence, challenge stigma, and set others free from the feeling that they have to struggle alone.
To say we are proud of her is an understatement. Creating something like this is powerful in itself, but standing up and speaking in front of an audience takes real courage and bravery.
We cannot wait to see how her journey continues to unfold.
This is only the beginning.
