Whoa whoa whoa it’s magic! ☀️ We just got our latest compost test results back for the next batch, and things are extra lively in the compost bays! 🍄 We’ve official got a complete compost, with the full soil-food-web present. It has high amounts of biomass across the board, isn’t lacking any biology, and has great fungal to bacterial ratio. Soilful: the story of Loop:Frome’s mission to rethink our town’s resources. What happens to food waste after it gets scraped off our plates and chopping boards? When a passionate group of Fromies started investigating this question, they discovered the town was leaking valuable nutrients via its discarded eggshells, potato peelings, coffee grounds and all manner of healthy by-products and leftovers. And so Loop:Frome was born, with a mission to redirect all this goodness from landfill and incineration back onto the town’s soil in the form of living, nutrient-rich compost. Shot by the talented @eoghanmcd from @habitus_insight , creatively produced by Loop:Frome’s own @ben_still , and featuring animation from @tem.jam and @roblaneroberts . Soilful is an inspirational, informative, and artistic piece. Melding music, visuals and composty goodness. With the world premier having taken place at Frome’s International climate film festival, winning best film under 5 minutes. As well as a screening event at @galleryatthestation . Huge love to the king of rice, spice n all things nice! The one and only Mahesh of @lungi_babas 🌶️ Mahesh was our very first business who signed up to Loop over four years ago, meaning in all that time not a single spoon of food waste has ended up binned, burnt or in landfill… with all of his cardboard take away boxes and cuterly also going into the mix! His food truly is the most authentic and delicious you can get outside of India, and is infused with his love wit and passion. 🧡 Along with many others we love this man!
