The Site Festival Open Studios programme is out now! Jessie from @studiotuft has handed out hundreds of Site Festival programmes at the Farmers Market this morning. Site Festival 2026 : Stroud's annual Art Festival Site Festival is an annual programme of artist-led projects from SVA; events, exhibitions, talks and directory of Open Studios in the Stroud district; established in 1997. This June, 61 artists open their studio doors in 38 locations in the Stroud Valleys over 2 weekends. Plus we have over 160 artists exhibiting and performing in exhibitions and events over the full festival programme: 3rd - 30th June. The six Open Studios routes start from right in the centre of Stroud and stretch out right across the district from Painswick to Wotton-under-Edge, from Chavenage to Stonehouse and from Uley to Chalford. Her practice is rooted in sculpture, and the materiality she often returns to is rock. With this exhibition, she invites you to imagine strata as an active and lively materiality through photography, performance, 16mm film, embroidery, and drawing. Since 2006, the group has pioneered an innovative approach to the traditional coco rhythm, expanding and refining its sound while staying rooted in ancestral heritage. Based in the Chão de Estrelas community, the group not only holds rehearsals but also leads a meaningful socio-cultural initiative dedicated to preserving and promoting Afro-descendant culture. Through their work, they challenge the stigmas often attached to popular traditions such as coco, and above all, they celebrate and strengthen Afro-Brazilian identity and expression. Link in bio

A beautiful first session of Soil Tribe with the @sva__ @zerodig.earth & @curriculum_for_life at the beautiful @oakbrook.community.farm 🪱 We explored the visual differences and aesthetics between an established no-dig bed and tilled bed, as well as the composting systems. We tapped into what ‘weeds’ were present and why, whilst imagining a narrative between plants and microbes. Emotionally connecting to soil through a sensory experience and documentation of what we could see, smell and hear. In the afternoon we took samples from these three different spots to befriend the organisms under the microscope, deepening further this relationship. Comparing the above ground observations to the below ground, to connect those practices with living, moving, nutrient recycling organisms. #insoilwetrust
