A great set of official photographs from @bristol_encontro Tambor 2026 via @bristolpicture wiith @selva.samba leading the dancers. Honoured to be joined by @leonardo_araujo97 from Portela school of samba.
Some great memories captured here.

@selva.samba has been working with the dancers for over a year and it was really exciting to see the result at Tambor.

We had a great time playing at a wedding on Saturday night. It was a surprise for the guests. They danced to every groove we played, so we felt like heroes. Lovely acoustics in the Asha centre hall too.

COCO DOS PRETOS
Hailing from Recife, Brazil, Coco dos Pretos have proven themselves as a symbol of resilience, and cultural significance. Since 2006, the group has pioneered an innovative approach to the traditional coco rhythm, expanding and refining its sound while staying rooted in ancestral heritage.
Based in the Chão de Estrelas community, the group not only holds rehearsals but also leads a meaningful socio-cultural initiative dedicated to preserving and promoting Afro-descendant culture. Through their work, they challenge the stigmas often attached to popular traditions such as coco, and above all, they celebrate and strengthen Afro-Brazilian
identity and expression.
