What a joyous launch last night @yuandmebooks to celebrate @jiminhanwriter 's latest, DREAMT I FOUND YOU, a contemporary retelling of Korea's Romeo and Juliet rendered in Jimin's gorgeous prose styling. @kafode was a wonderful conversation partner, and the pair charmed the packed house of readers, friends and fellow authors. You can pick this one up now!

Didn't get a ton of photos but made plenty of memories this weekend @hamptonswhodunit . Forged new friendships, deepened existing ones, and caught a ton of inspiration from the brilliant folks who make this community such an honor to be a part of. Big thanks to the Hamptons Whodunit team for another stellar festival!

Had the pleasure of attending @asjouhanneau 's event @bnatlanticave last night to celebrate the release of WE WOULD NEVER TELL, a glitz-soaked heist thriller set at the Cannes Film Festival. @andibartz led a marvelous conversation that touched on the novel's backstory, the high-wire act of writing complex and fallible characters, and just how many sub-genres can be woven into a single book. If you like a side of murder and mayhem with your glamour, this one's for you!

Had a blast talking shop with Deborah Levison @barrettbookstore_ this past weekend! We discussed Deb's terrific new thriller, A NOVEL CRIME, set in the literary world and featuring a hilariously endearing narrative voice and a firecracker of a premise. Pick it up now! A special thank-you to @craig_barrettbooks for putting this together.

'I walked up to the wooden gate. The indentation where the plaque had been was still visible if you knew what to look for. I thought about walking around to the entrance and knocking on the door, but the decrepit gate beckoned me. I stepped into the lush space of our absence. These were the trees my great-grandfather had planted for his children and grandchildren. My grandfather would have planted some for me and Jehad had our destiny not been stolen.'

Two majors. One for your parents, one for you. Ed Lin knows that math — and he knows what it costs. This week he talks double lives, a professor who told him the day job / writing at night plan never works, and the career he built anyway. Spoiler: A lot of awards and books later, Ed has thoughts on that professor. This week on Imposter Hour with Liz & Greg!🎙️ #ImposterHour #EdLin #AsianAmerican #WritingLife #thedeadcantmakealiving

NOW AIRING! ‘Writing or Chaos’ Featuring Ed Lin Ed Lin spent thirty-three years as a financial journalist writing novels at night — and his college professor told him it couldn’t be done. This week, the first author to win three Asian American Literary Awards joins us to talk about growing up in a crappy Jersey Shore motel full of actual criminals, writing crime fiction as a form of social witness, and why he named his protagonist after himself in Mandarin. We get into migrant labor in Taiwan, the politics of algorithmic receipts, and what happens to Ed if he goes too long without writing. Hint: it involves smashing car windows. His latest, The Dead Can’t Make a Living, is out now. #ImposterHour #EdLin #TheDeadCantMakeALiving #CrimeFiction #AsianAmericanAuthors WritersOfInstagram Podcast MysteryBooks impostersyndrome
