"The Days Pass Quickly Immersed in the Shadow of Eternity" is out (officially) tomorrow, although if you mosey over to my bandcamp (link in my bio), you will see that it is available as of today. Archaic flutes in dense choir mode. It's like nothing else out there. I think it is the best thing I have made, in all honesty.
From Lucy Thraves's review in this month's Wire: "This is a complex, confident work in which textures behave like murmurations, combining and recombining into distinctive spatial events."
Streaming is limited (only a 5 minute excerpt) so the best way to hear the full thing is to purchase it on Bandcamp or Apple Music. No Spotify, No Amazon etc. I'm looking into that new platform Subvert currently, so it could also pop up there.
Many thank-you's for the support I received in making this very very deep piece of music. Firstly, my collaborator, Norbert Rodenkirchen, who I wrote the piece for. Without his mastery and guidance, (and flutes!) this piece would never have come about. Also thank you to Paula Matthusen and Wesleyan University for supporting the development of this work. Thank you to Father Michael Holleran for the title. Brad Rose @foxy.digitalis for mastering. New Music USA, @wavefarmradio Wave Farm/NYSCA, ZKM | Karlsruhe, Dominik Knautz.
The release takes the form of a CD, DL or Limited Edition Offset Embossed Booklet that contains my writings on the development of this work plus a graphic score. The booklet is in the second edition (20 copies) hand numbered and signed by me. These seem to be a hot item, so grab them before they evaporate.
I should also mention that we are trying to organize some performances of this piece in Europe for the fall. I was really amazed and inspired by the run of shows we just did last month throughout the US, so I am hoping we can get something together for the autumn... Please be in touch with [email protected] if you would like to hear this piece in all of its 8-channel glory.

The Oracle is an alchemy of contemporary political anxieties illuminated by surrealistic images that
seep in from the unconscious. The music centers on voice, a shift from the instrumental music of previous albums. Bertucci’s creatively misuses a reel-to-to-reel tape machine to live-manipulate
her voice, a process that breaks apart language to instill meaning beyond the word. The lyrics that populate The Oracle originate from what the artist calls a “stream-of-unconsciousness” method of
improvisation. She continues, “fragments of words and phrases simmer within layers of voice . . . revealing and obscuring images of dreams, warped news headlines and mythological imagery.” These subliminal influences collide to create a “soothsaying for this tumultuous historical moment”.
I was delighted to witness the open house experimental music day at this mysterious, little-known cistern in my corner of Dutchess County, New York.
We heard first from musician @peretsky , whose experimental drone sounds reverberated all around the cistern--which formerly held 1,000,000 gallons of water.
Several other musicians performed, including @lilbertucci (pictured) and many others. Alas, my phone audio isn't enough to do justice to the 14-second echos, but I hope that my images convey the uniqueness of this watery, unique space hidden in the middle of a golf course I've played on many times.

We are excited to present another unique pairing of two musicians who have been an important part of improvised music in NY’s, past and present.
Lea Bertucci and David Watson, who will be performing on July 9th.
LEA BERTUCCI
Lea Bertucci is an experimental musician whose works revolve around electronic and spatial extensions of instrument and voice. In addition to her longstanding practice performing with woodwinds, she has created compositions for strings, brass, percussion and other instruments, often incorporating electronics and multichannel sound. With an ear toward site-responsiveness and acoustics, her work has expanded toward installation and non-linear presentations of her music, often staged in hyper-resonant spaces.
DAVID WATSON
David Watson is an experimental musician, his work encompassing improvisation, composition and scoring for film and dance. He plays guitar and bagpipes, and is known for creating a vocabulary for bagpipes as a new-music instrument.
Originally from New Zealand he has been in New York for many years and has worked with extraordinary artists like Robert Ashley, Tony Buck, Moriah Evans, Chris Mann, Christian Marclay, Sean Meehan, Ikue Mori, Bill Nace, Andrea Parkins, Lee Ranaldo, Marc Ribot, Jamar Roberts, Yoshi Wada, Matthew Welch, John Zorn, $75 Bill, amongst many others.
Happy Bandcamp Friday! Turn the sound on to hear the blossoming flutes of my new release. It’s a lovely spring morning here in the Northeast and a perfect day to pre-order “The Days Pass Quickly Immersed in the Shadow of Eternity” for archaic flutes, performed by Norbert Rodenkirchen. Available on CD/digital formats, unfortunately the booklet is sold out now. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Seventh Stanine 2026: Fri., 6/12 and Sat., 6/13. Playing Saturday: Lea Bertucci (@lilbertucci ). Lea Bertucci is a New York-based experimental musician, composer and performer whose work explores relationships between acoustic phenomena and biological resonance. Bertucci’s approach to music is marked by dense masses of sustained dissonance and a fascination with the sonic substance of common experience. Her work spans over a decade, with 8 full-length solo albums and a number of collaborative projects.
Presented by @thecaribbeanisaband and taking place @rhizome_dc . Ticket link in bio.
