NON-BODY has never stopped moving.
Thank you, Yi-jou Chuang, for coming and sharing such a thoughtful reflection.
“In NON-BODY, I found myself constantly shifting between two perspectives — one centered on the performer and the other on the objects. Perhaps it was precisely this alternation that made the viewing experience so challenging for me.
On one hand, I was captivated by the dancer’s powerful physical presence, feeling the intensity and persistence of his struggle with the wearable apparatus and the ropes.
On the other hand, I was equally drawn to the autonomous movements and structural tensions of the objects themselves, observing how they transformed in dialogue with the machine and the body to generate new forms and meanings.
This constant shifting of perspective may have been the most demanding, yet also the most fascinating and rewarding aspect of the entire artwork NON-BODY.”
