Please behold our new/old Frozen Moments box from 1990.
Frozen Moments are an extremely important part of the Le Puzz origin story. They’re a series of vintage faux food items, often mid-spill or captured in some state of movement—frozen in time. We’ve been obsessed with them since discovering the brand around 2018 and have spent wayyyy too much money collecting them.
When we created Le Puzz, we knew we had to make a Frozen Moments puzzle—and so Oops! was born. Using our collection (and a friend’s), we set everything up in our studio with random plinths and materials we had lying around.
We also tracked down Geoffrey Rose, the original maker and owner of Frozen Moments, who is now retired and living in Australia. He agreed to chat with us on the phone, and we talked for over two hours, asking all the questions we’d been dying to know. You can find a tiny part of that interview on the back of the Oops! puzzle box.
Anyway, please enjoy our little collection of FM sculptures, as well as the newest addition: the original 1990 cardboard box—which is just chef’s kiss!
Looking to shop the new series IRL?! There might be a shop that stocks us near you! Don’t see your favorite shop listed? Shout out your favorite place to shop Le Puzz in the comments. Be sure to check out the Store Locater on our website for a full listing of all our retail partners worldwide. We hope you stumble upon the puzzle of your dreams!! 💛 (and save on shipping).
Your favorite puzzle pets are back in stock!! Is there anything in the world cuter than poker playing dogs or a relaxing cat?! We can’t think of anything but if such a puzzle were to exist we’d probably be the ones making it 🤭
Have you ever heard of William Accorsi? He was an artist (b. 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA.) who made fun, colorful and often erotic wooden puzzles. Working prolifically in the 60’s and 70’s he really exemplified the free loving spirit of the times. We love his playful depiction of free-love and visual puns through comedic wooden sculpture puzzles. They often go for hundreds of dollars but we’re lucky enough to have collected two of our own for the puzzle collection - see the last two slides.
Last Friday we celebrated the launch of our new Charmworld puzzle with a puzzles and pajamas party hosted by @haricotvert !! The Le Puzz team of course opted to wear our REAL pajamas (nightcap and all) for the perfect slumber party dream world that only @kelsarmie and @javaughngray could help bring to life! What more could we ask for?! There were smarties, tarot, and real puzzle pieces from charmworld hanging from the ceiling!!! We were so happy to see everyone and celebrate charmworld together 🩷
Biiiiig fans of moms over here! They’re just the best—often providing the warmest tables to eat at, talk at, and of course, puzzle at. They just know how to make all the pieces of life fit together.
We hid a photo of each of our moms in the new HELP! Puzzle 🥰🥰🥰—just a tiny homage to the women who made it all possible.
Come with me on a short journey of 39 animals spread across 500 puzzle pieces and all shot in glorious 240p! My jigsaw puzzle made in collaboration with @lepuzzpuzzles is now available from Le Puzz stockists and from the link in my bio! 🧩
If you know anything about Le Puzz you know we love a tiny thing. What’s better than a tiny thing? A tiny thing that you can wear! We keep a shortlist of random ideas going for puzzles and the word “Charms” has been on that list for a couple of years, so when @haricotvert emailed us out of the blue it felt serendipitous to say the least, they are charm professionals after all. We have admired their work for a while and love how they make and source fun vintage trinkets and charms right here in Brooklyn. We immediately hit it off and we are so grateful and thankful to both @kelsarmie and @javaughngray for being such fun collaborators and making this dream a reality.
To make the puzzle we had the privilege of visiting their studio/shop and had free range access to any and every charm in their collection. We were like kids in a candy store picking out our favorites, it was literally HEAVEN!!! We laid out the order of the charms and watched while they turned it into a wearable piece. Later in our studio we all created a huge paper collage using magazines and vintage ephemera which became the background of the puzzle. After some trial and error arranging the hanging charms and the collage we finally landed on a final image and Charmworld was born <3
We love how nostalgic this image is while having endless little things to discover. Charmworld is definitely one of our more difficult 1000 piece puzzles, but we love that for you … just an excuse to invite more friends over to help you complete it =)
Come celebrate the launch of this puzzle and put in a few pieces with us at one of our puzzles tables (there will be three!) The party starts THIS FRIDAY 5/8 at the Haricot Vert shop in Williamsburg! Tickets available at the link in our bio, tickets include a complimentary puzzle! See you there ❤️
A beautiful day with community. 🧩
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the Pieceful Protest Puzzle with Philadelphia Printworks × Le Puzz at YOWIE.
It was such a special evening. Thank you again to Two Locals Brewing for providing the beverages, and to Donte Neal for capturing the night so beautifully.
If you weren’t able to attend, the puzzle is currently available through Philadelphia Printworks, YOWIE, and Le Puzz.
Thank you for all the support. 💛
Something you might not know about Le Puzz … our breakfast of choice is a little sweet (or savory!) morning treat from a bakery in Bed Stuy called @welcomehome.bk . Accounting for the fact that they are closed one day a week, and not accounting for special weekend trips, Le Puzz has frequented Welcome Home at least 208 days in the past year. Michael’s pastry of choice is a cardamom bun (the Cardi B), Ava gets the potato ranch, and Alistair is a bit of a wild card, plain croissant? chocolate cake? NYC’s best chocolate chip cookie?? (for us to share of course.) Le Puzz has not been a profitable company since discovering Welcome Home. lol
All that to say, we are very happy to announce our summer series of puzzling events at our home away from home, Welcome Home! Once a month, from May to August, we hope you will join us to put together a puzzle and snack on all the incredible bread and butter you can eat. Additional snacks will be available for purchase and you are welcome to BYOB.
Tickets are $35 and space is extremely limited so grab a ticket for any month this summer!
Tickets available at the link in our bio❣️
