i’m absolutely buzzin babes!!!!!! i can’t believe the @nytimes wrote about @shopberriez and me!!! i am beyond grateful ~ it’s validating because it feels like i’ve found my purpose, and i’m so happy to get to do what i do. Berriez wouldn’t be Berriez without the community of people who infuse it with love, support, and cold hard ca$h baby!!! 😜 thank you @supernovagrrl for taking the time to come to the studio and chat, and for writing this thoughtful piece. truly touched 🥹🥲💓

i spent the last 3 weeks in palm springs resting, reflecting, and reevaluating. i didn’t know how badly my mind and body needed this until i arrived. i am still trying to figure out what, exactly, makes me happy, but after being here - and trying to be more present - i have a better sense. i am scared to be back in new york and lose this feeling.
running a business is draining - mentally, physically, and emotionally - and isolating, oftentimes all-consuming. as a highly sensitive person, sometimes i’m not sure it’s for me. the number one thing i learned while being here is that rest is essential to creativity + productivity. maybe that’s just the Taurus in me talking! for me, rest has been reconnecting with old friends, being in nature (swimming! walking! appreciating the mountains every time i see them!), reading, journaling, watching documentaries about rock climbing, lurking on reddit, smoking a joint on the balcony while looking up at the stars.
another thing i learned: the most peaceful time of day is when the sun rises. if only i had the willpower to get up at dawn every day.
i sent my mom the first photo of me, a selfie i took while in joshua tree state park, and she said, “i haven’t seen you this happy in years.” despite being constantly overwhelmed by the big questions i’ve been trying to answer, i did find moments of genuine happiness on this trip.
i can’t wait to come back here!
