👋🏻 It’s me Gab. Thought I’d do a little intro for those who are new here. I take photos for a living. I love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else. I live in Bedstuy in Brooklyn but am often on airplanes. I’m half Brazilian but failed to teach my two kids Portuguese. You will often find me organizing gatherings. Pre-pandemic, I was working on a photo series photographing podcasters — back when not every single person had a podcast! I was interested in capturing the faces behind the voices we’d come to know so intimately, often without ever seeing them.
I began shooting, and then… bam. Pandemic. And that became the end of the project for me. I never picked it back up, and I never shared the images.

Another one for the books with dream collaborator @lpx in her Bushwick funhouse! Sad to see this chapter in this space closing but grateful we got to document a piece of her wildly unique world.
Slow Mornings. “I took this image at breakfast while staying at Hotel Sambaqui, situated on Juréia Beach, along the coast of São Paulo, Brazil. I was drawn, as I so often am, to that fleeting pocket of morning light — the kind that transforms an ordinary moment into something radiant.”

Archive pull for a recent client featuring cars. Always fun to do a deep dive. Actually in the bidding process it’s one of my fave steps to have to dig through my body of work and find just the right set of images to match the clients deck.
Images from a recent commission for the 50th anniversary of the Colgate Women’s Games, a New York institution that has been bringing girls and women to the track for generations.
The energy in the room was incredible. Sha’carri Richardson (@itsshacarri ) was there, along with dozens of former Olympians cheering on the next wave of athletes from the sidelines.

Guys, I shot some fashion! Rare for me, but also was kinda like the most fun I’ve had on a shoot in a while??!! Collaborated with the brilliant @busayoworld who’s style I just adore. These are actually bonus shots I found while editing — ones where the front flash didn’t fire. Sometimes the best images are truly the unexpected. More to come.
