💐Today we put out a jazz record! 💿 LANZ + Kris Allen = Ballard Ballard = synth-jazz ~ post-jazz ~ instrumental fusion (but not lame) ~ experimental friendrock ~ progressive vaporwave for people who have never heard of the genre ‘vaporwave’ before we mentioned it We’re putting this LP out on a Tuesday to support some tour dates this week: 🎟️ Wednesday 13th: Hartford, CT — @RealArtWays 🎟️ Friday 15th: Cincinnati, OH — @ntlHomecoming  Festival (w/ @BarteesStrange , @CarriersTheBand ) 🎟️ Sunday 17th: New York City, NY — @RockWoodMusicHall  (Stage 2) 🎷Ballard is the name of a collaborative LP with one of my oldest friends @soundslikeka . It might be the origin story of a new band? Please consider purchasing on Bandcamp which is the best way to support this music. ⚽ If you don’t quite know how to connect with the abstraction of instrumental music, there’s a pair of tracks “Panenka” and “Rabona” which refer to football techniques. (That’s soccer to anyone in North America.) “Panenka” is when, during a penalty kick, the shooter floats the ball into the centre of the goal, deceiving any goalkeeper that has committed to a dive into the left or right corner of the net. The technique was introduced by Czech football player Antonín Panenka in 1976. We made a video for it🇨🇿 🥁 “Panenka” is also a concise earworm based around a tangle of horn samples and repeating drum patterns. 🎛️ “Rabona” one of the most direct and up-tempo tracks on the album. Both good starting points. We hope to see some of you in person this week!

This was such a fun night! @thefantasyorchestra and @morning_star_music_club hosting Kate Bush night at @la_marbrerie There were way too many great moments to mention them all, but here’s a few shots of it, featuring @florahibberd @yse_musique @atsypical absolutely shredding singing Kate Bush songs with the orchestra.

It’s all done! With @florahibberd we just finished up mixing with @etiennecaylou and mastering with @chabmastering and I couldn’t imagine it being any more exciting. It’s all sounding GREAT and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Huge thanks to Etienne and Chab for making these last, very important steps so thoroughly, entirely musical and enjoyable and thank you to Flora and @victorclaass for entrusting me with producing these beautiful songs.
