Once again, our community has come through! Challenge: We had 55 days to raise $555,000 - a HUGE undertaking. Response: 408 donors responded with gifts and pledges totaling $577,449. On top of that, there were 11th-hour major gifts that added another $250K. Energized by this momentum, one of our challenge pool donors will continue to match “late” gifts - meaning, there is still time to make a new gift to our capital campaign! We are so grateful for a community that believes in what we do and what we are continuing to build in Hartford. There is so much to look forward to! Learn more about our capital campaign, and make a gift if you want to double your impact today: realartways.org/expansion/

Assets for Artists (A4A), with support from the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation, is launching a 10-month capacity-building program designed to empower independent artists in the Greater Hartford region. The new initiative provides 10 selected artists with critical resources for long-term career sustainability, including financial literacy training, business coaching, and peer networking. Members of the cohort will receive financial support through a $5,000 project grant and a $10,000 unrestricted grant. By focusing on low-to-moderate-income creatives and artists who have been historically underrepresented, the program aims to bridge economic disparities and strengthen the overall cultural ecosystem of Greater Hartford. Deadline to apply: Monday, June 1, at 5 pm More info and to apply ➡️ assetsforartists.org/blog/2026-greater-hartford-cohort

Big thanks to Dr. Susan Masino from @trinitycollege and @oldgrowthforestnetwork for her continued advocacy work, shedding light on the natural ecosystems around us and our relationship with nature, and informing us about ways we can get involved with “wildland” protection @ctsciencecenter for @scienceonscreen . 1 screening down, 5 more to go! ✅ Special shout out to the very engaged audience members who came with plenty of great questions and a genuine desire to support the cause. The Science Center was the perfect space for watching PROFORESTATION and having this discussion. We are so grateful!

We are so exited to partner with Real Art Ways (@realartways ) for their next season of Science on Screen which combines a feature film & a thought-provoking talk from a notable area scientist! This Saturday, April 25th Dr. Susan Masino will discuss the lifecycle of old-growth forests & how new models of conservation look to heal forest habitats 🌳✨ Following the talk, we will be showing Proforestation, a film that introduces a practice whereby some existing forests are allowed to evolve & adapt as Nature directs, with limited human intervention, & with benefits for climate, ecology, & health 🎬🍿 Explore more through the events page on our site!
