Very pleased to announce that I’m among the acts announced in the first wave that are going to be playing at Forever Is A Long Time festival in Glasgow 29-30th August to celebrate 15 years of @night_school . I can’t really put into words what the label and Michael have done for me, Love Is A Flame In The Dark simply wouldn’t have existed without their encouragement, enthusiasm and desire to bring my work to the ears of people so I’m over the moon to be performing at this event celebrating the label alongside friends and inspirations including @tristwch_y_fenywod @gutsnips @rose.mcdowall @freelove_nrg @huang_yu__ching with more acts TBC over the coming months but you can grab weekend tickets at the link in my bio for now. My debut album Love Is A Flame In The Dark is an album of the year in @thewiremagazine 50 records of the year 2024 and @guardian 50 best albums of 2024 EOY lists. This album and these songs were burning to come out of me, I spent a year and a half making it in my bedroom playing every instrument and making every part of it by myself working 7 days a week (with the odd burnout necessitated weekend off) until it was ready to be mixed by Ross Halden at his studio @hohmrecording and then mastered by Noel Summerville at 3345 Mastering in London. I’m completely blown away by how the album has been received after being out only two months and am so excited for whatever 2025 holds….. Had a crackin’ night out in Sheffield tonight @crookessocialclub to celebrate the launch of Groovy, Laidback And Nasty by @ddywray (in conversation with @elizabethalker in slide 2.) which I’m very much looking forward to reading.
