🚹🚹🚹 The Thinking Of The World Began Pounding In Our Ears The Moment We Hit Shore - S/T STRLP-126 The Thinking of the World Began Pounding in Our Ears the Moment We Hit Shore is a studio-constructed album developed as a project rather than a band. Created by Florian TM Zeisig between 2022 and 2025, the record draws on sessions and material contributed by a small group of collaborators. Recordings were gathered across different contexts and brought together through an extended studio process, with writing, production, arrangement, and assembly treated as a continuous activity. The album took shape gradually through selection, editing, and re-placement of material over time. Individual pieces were revisited, reshaped, and recontextualized until they formed a unified body of work. Contributions to the project include work by Mari Rubio (More Eaze), Róisín Berkeley, Don Lyons, Cal Fish, K, Seán Being, and JQ. All tracks were produced, written, arranged, and mixed by Florian TM Zeisig, with co-songwriting contributions noted per track. Mastering: Mathieu Savenay Design & Typography: Felix Sandvoss

today is officially @wendyeyes day!!!!! so thrilled to see the release of wendy's self titled album for @joyfulnoiserecs out in the worldđŸ„° every day i think "i can't believe that wendy eisenberg is my partner and that we get to play music together." it was a huge honor to have wendy trust me enough to co-produce, arrange, perform on, and mix this music. i could not be happier with how it turned out. i think we made a truly classic record that is full of air and space while still feeling expansive and lush. as someone who's been listening to wendy's songs since "time machine"- it is also feels very much like how i've wanted to hear wendy's music as a huge fan. i love wendy so much and im sure you all will love this album too. infinite thx to @ryans_riddim @dunnatov @lesterst.louis and @alicedoescomputermusic for playing on these songs as well. huge s/o to @andresabenante for engineering a ton of this music and to @the_land_ethic.wav for a stellar mastering job. go listen to this wherever u listen to music and nab a vinyl or cd! we got some joint lp release shows coming up too :)

On June 6 we’ll be celebrating the release of Movie by Lifted at Tonal Park, right across the Maryland/DC border. Joining the party are More Eaze, one of Movie’s featured guest stars, and Earthen Sea, a longtime compatriot of the duo. We’ll have tapes on hand and available to exchange for your hard earned dollars. Lifted live happenings are full of spontaneous confluences and jammed out tracks that bubble and churn like a slowly boiling stew. Stems are assembled and disassembled using an array of CDJs, building each track live from the ground up.  We’re tempted to call it a new horizon in turntablism without a hint of hyperbole. OT presented Lifted’s first live gig in 2023, back before we were even releasing records, and we’re excited to realize this full-circle moment. More Eaze, aka Mari Maurice Rubio, plays pedal steel, bass, and acoustic guitar on “The Ice Chewers,” the opening credits for Movie, and recently released her incredible new album Sentence Structure in the Country on Thrill Jockey. Mari exists in the Jim O’Rourke continuum of musicians who have mastered both pop songwriting and exploratory soundmaking, integrating both into her albums and live sets. Earthen Sea is Jacob Long, known in DC and beyond for his membership in Black Eyes, here exploring dubbed out, atmospheric terrains. The last Earthen Sea set we saw also featured extensive saxophone, weaving in and out of the surreal electronic textures that define this music. He contributed to the Lifted albums Trellis and 3. As always, this will be a night of out of your head sounds in service of community and friendship. $15-30 sliding scale, and find the ticket link at rhizomedc.org or in our bio zone. Wendy Eisenberg and more eaze are deeply in sync and alive to the pleasure of making music. As whait, they helped close off Longform Editions with a work that cradled Americana into minimalism, and now they continue with their freewheeling field of dreams for Residence with Icarus in Training. Six songs of fractured beats, bedroom pop, dreamy dub, stark folksong and blurry trip-hop built on equal parts impulse and intention. Get in on this early and exciting phase via Bandcamp - link in bio! Read more about it all at the Residence Substack - via our bio, too. Cover design - @markgowing

Bklyn Live Music PSA! Dada Strain returns to its favorite NYC arts loft, Light & Sound Design Studios (aka L&SD) in Greenpoint, for a presentation of rhythm-improvisation-community dance music, on Sunday, May 17th at 5p. This late afternoon hang of global rhythms, live machines and expert selections will feature a rare solo electronic excursion by the mighty more eaze, a typically bonkers drum-machine-circle by the collective A.B.E.L.A. (Asociación de Bateristas ElektrónikXs de Latinoamerika), and a special “cosmic jazz dance set” by DJ Monk-One. The evening is produced with the generous help of FourOneOne. Dada Strain @ L&SD is a bi-monthly series of live performances by (primarily) local musicians, improvisers and DJs, that encompasses elements of deep listening and body movement. Flyer by @okaymissalicia Tix/RSVP at the link in the bio. More info on Dada Strain (also at link in the bio). I look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for reading, listening, following and supporting!

“All of a sudden, this band that mostly sang about surfing and cars came out with a strangely orchestrated ballad that presents Brian Wilson as a flawed partner overcome with emotion at his lover’s ability to look past his many indiscretions and dalliances. Placed directly after the dreamlike adolescence of ‘Wouldn’t it Be Nice,’ ‘You Still Believe in Me’ feels like the weight of reality crashing down. As a teenager, I was deeply moved by the way this song reflected the ugly parts of life—how much the record as a whole felt like a process of becoming something awkward and new.” Full of dissonance, diatonic harmonies, and an outcast spirit, the second song on Pet Sounds was a massive leap forward into the Beach Boys’ new, burgeoning feelings of adulthood and responsibility. ‹Link in bio to read Mari Rubio, aka more eaze, on “You Still Believe in Me,” the newest entry in Paste’s ongoing Pet Sounds Project. 📝: @more_eaze 📾: Capitol/UMG #TheBeachBoys #YouStillBelieveInMe #PetSounds
