No other band posits a total re-wiring of your neural pathways like Guttersnipe.
Emanating from Leeds’ fertile DIY scene over a decade ago, Uroceras Gigas and Tipula Confusa have since played in numerous configurations with others (Nape Neck, Tristwch Y Fenywod to name two) but it’s in this wild, xenofeminist duo that they take their noise to its heights. Augmented drums, augmented guitars, Guttersnipe present post-human or extra-human ROCK music at its most essential.
One of my favourite memories of recent years is booking them for Jupiter Rising festival in the last days of covid... seeing them flay a large crowd in a big tent, youngsters, unsuspecting passers by, freaks, weirdos and the merely curious alike. I remember seeing two 16 year old kicks watch, mouth agape, mouthing “what the hell is this” to eachother. I wonder where those kids are now?
So proud to work with The Best Band In The UK (tm), releasing their 2nd album proper this month (Extinction Burst!) and presenting them at Forever Is A Long TIme, Aug 29th/30th... yes, TICKETS IN BIO

Crisis Energy: An Interview with Guttersnipe
Returning with their first album in eight years, Guttersnipe’s Uroceras Gigas and Tipula Confusa tell @thequietus how xenofeminism can save rock music from stagnation, and what we can learn from non-human creatures 🪱🪱
Guttersnipe’s new album Extinction Burst! is out one month from today on the 8th May! You can preorder a copy at the 🔗 in our bio
ECSTATIC to welcome longtime friends GUTTERSNIPE to Night School. I can’t think of any other group that has done so much to rewire neurons and provide as much energy release as these two. Seeing them live is like nothing else and on Extinction Burst! they’ve captured this intense, sustained rush.
Both members have branched out into other groups (Nape Neck, Tristwch Y Fenywod to name but two) but it’s in Guttersnipe you get the pure unfiltered lava.
Extinction Burst! is the new invocation in album-form by Guttersnipe, Leeds’ premier and pre-eminent XFCER (XFCER: Xenofeminist crisis-energy rock) duo. Slamming at full speed to multi-dimensional oblivion, Extinction Burst is the most full, hi-definition lurid dream-mare yet spewed out by Uroceras Gigas & Tipula Confusa.
Engineered and mixed by Ross Halden at Hohm Studio in Bradford and mastered by Rashad Becker, Extinction Burst! follows 2018’s My Mother The Vent, which garnered universal critical adoration. Nevertheless, this long-awaited follow up is more extreme: it is wildness beyond reason, splitting new tears in the reality gauze, ultimate hallucination through sound ecstasy.
Check it out in the bio.
