Really proud to have been played on 6music for the second week running by the wonderful @stumaconie after absolute legends @oxnmusic as part of the @supersonic_fest recap. It's nice to reminisce about such a sick weekend.

Last summer, gangs of men started hanging flags from lampposts in Birmingham. Within weeks, they'd stepped up to picking fights with anyone who objected. By the autumn they were holding 'Stop the Boats' rallies every week outside asylum seeker hostels, harassing and interrogating black and brown people as they passed by. A woman in Walsall was raped in her own home by a racist, because he believed her to be Muslim.
Last Friday, there was a march through Sutton Coldfield, led by a man with a megaphone, dressed as a stormtrooper, screaming about Blood.and Honour and White Power and ethnic cleansing. Days later, a fascist mob in Epsom smashed the windows of a domestic violence refuge in Epsom, believing asylum.seekers to be living there.
Fascism is on the rise. In this city and in this country. It starts with flags and weasel words about 'legitimate concerns', and it steps up through broken glass and broken bones, and you end up with genocide.
It's up to us to stop it.
