𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐃 (
@ingnodwetrust )
Since their inception, Gnod’s trajectory has been one of constant evolution, driven by a need to explore new sonic worlds. Beginning life as a shamanic drone collective, sometimes with up to 15 members on stage, their early rituals shaped the core of the band: community, repetition and trance. Across a prolific run of releases on Rocket Recordings, Trensmat and their own Tesla Tapes, Gnod have continually mutated their sound into new forms, carving out a singular place in truly independent music.
That same spirit defines their reputation as one of the UK’s most celebrated live acts, with tours and festivals across Europe. Rather than simply recreating records, Gnod’s current incarnation delivers crushing, cathartic protest music — intense, immersive and euphoric. Inclusive yet uncompromising, their shows offer a full-body plunge into a heavy, psychedelic maelstrom built for collective release.
𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 (
@vanishinguk )
Vanishing is the project of lyricist and arranger Gareth Smith, featuring multi-instrumentalist Karl D’Silva and a shifting cast of collaborators across strings and electronics. The project has been performing live in support of 2024’s Shelter Of The Opaque (State 51 Records).
Blending electronic, jazz, modern classical and ambient influences, Vanishing creates immersive sound pieces designed to be experienced as moments — guided by voice, without clear beginning or end.
On Shelter Of The Opaque, the music is “more skeletal, more ambitious and more affecting than previous work… the backing serves to aid Smith’s lyrics, not obscure them” (John Doran). Ransom Note describes it as “a record that confronts darkness and melancholy… vital, expressive, and defiant.”
