I interviewed and photographed the artist @maitedeorbe for @metal_magazine earlier this year, ahead of their first London solo show, ‘a moment opposite to blindness’ @miloscgallery . ‘a moment opposite to blindness’ is up in Santo Domingo @ccesantodomingo until the 11th of January, 2026. Surrounded by Maite’s prints, at the Assembly Darkrooms in Dalston, we spoke about the alchemy of the darkroom, documenting the ballroom scene in Santo Domingo, and the power of stepping back to reflect on the impulses that direct our creative practice. I visited @lyra.pramuk at her Berlin home for a studio visit with @berlinartlink . It was a privilege to speak with and photograph Lyra in such an intimate setting. I could listen to her talk for days. It was an emotional feature to work on. Lyra’s work hits hard. The research, reflection, and time spent delving into her catalogue, and additionally, through the references to literature, music, and the truths she shared that day, took me on a journey, and something inside me was redirected through that process. Thank you, @lyra.pramuk for sharing your voice and spirit so generously with the world and bringing radiant authenticity to what you do. Thank you to @berlinartlink for making it possible.
